STAY AWAY - Poor Service

Poor customer service form the desk staff to management. Employees rude, tall white customer manager very unprofessional and has poor appearance. Manager was rude and didn't speak well. I advise you please STAY AWAY. Ownership find different management; current management will hurt your business!!! Poor customer service form the desk staff to management. Soulless and cheap

It’s kind of great to be traveling again for work, yet unfortunate that I’ve been landed with this ‘gem’. My basic requirements for a hotel are not crazy. However do I draw the line at requiring a plate (yes a plate) when eating breakfast. However the master-minds behind the ‘Aloft’ (terrible name) view a plate as an unnecessary and bourgeois extravagance and not something to be made, willy nilly, available. In fact not available at all. Instead breakfast is ‘served’ in a flimsy cardboard box with the luxury of thin plastic knives and forks. Have you ever tried buttering hot toast on the bottom of a four inch square cardboard box? Godam, nothing get the day off to a better start. Seriously, some farm animals are treated better than this. So this is a low budget, zero excitement, cheap and nasty hotel. The staff on checking in gave the impression that I was the first person ever to attempt this feat, there was no iron/board in the room, the room smelled, the safe didn’t work and every single element of this hotel screams that it was built to the lowest possible budget. Because it was. If an hotel can’t afford to put breakfast on a plate for you, then what are their other standards I wonder. Overall a modern, soulless, airport type hotel that has taken cost cutting ten steps too far. Find somewhere better. Misses the mark in little ways

Hotel is beautiful from the outside and has a great lobby area on the 6th floor as well as a gorgeous rooftop bar/restaurant and pool deck. In my opinion it doesn't make up for the misses though. First off all of the signage is horrible if you get in the elevator and don't know what floor the lobby is on you just have to guess since it is not labeled. Same goes for the bar, pool, and meeting rooms. If you didn't know the hotel had a pool you could stay a week and never be aware of it. Also getting to the pool is weird because you have to walk through the bar and restaurant to get to it. The rooms are typical Aloft rooms which means small however the beds seem much softer than typical. Some people may like that but I prefer something a little firmer like most Marriott beds. There is very little storage space and most annoyingly there is no iron or ironing board in the room. At the pool there were bins filled with dirty towels but no clean ones available. Staff is indifferent and kind of just there. Finally you must valet which is always annoying. Every time we would come or go there was never a valet at the stand and we would end up waiting 5-10 minutes for someone to show up. Hotels mandate valet use but won't provide housekeeping because of covid. There is zero consistency in that logic. Overall I recommend staying elsewhere even though it is a new property. Don’t waste your money if you’re a senior at Alift Midtown Tampa.

Staff at roof top bar accommodates younger clientele. Ignores older patrons, us, late 50’s-early 60’s. 30 minutes, absolutely no greeting,,attempt to take an order. Walked by dozens of times. Hotel caters to younger patrons. Not suitable for us. We have been in the aloft hotels in Gainesville, & Savannah. Smaller properties and less people and no bar or restaurant crowd like the Tampa midtown. If you are looking for budget hotels, thus is not for seniors. Glad we like to stay at higher end properties. Dirty Rooms

I checked into this aloft and I thought the hotel was nicely decorated and newly built. I had no issues with my room until I woke up the first morning and stepped into the shower. The bottom of my feet were black from the floor not being cleaned. I went down to the front desk and the lady was very apologetic and said she and the head of housekeeping would go up to my room and take care of the issue. I got back to my room at 6:45 pm after being gone since 8:00 am. I used a wash cloth and wiped an area of the floor in the bathroom and my floor was still dirty. I took a bath towel and mopped my floor in my room. Just take a look at the picture. Very disappointed. I checked into this aloft and I thought the hotel was nicely decorated and newly built.
