Very nice unit, nice repair staff, Read the entire review to see why it is a 4 instead of a 5.

We chose this Resort because of the location. It is a few miles from Pigeon Forge, and just a little further from Gatlinburg. We spent part of our honeymoon 43 years ago in Gatlinburg, so we knew the area was beautiful. We had no idea how much it has grown. Beware that if you come here that you are not visiting a small, inexpensive, sleepy tiny town. This entire area has grown. There are waterparks, fabulous restaurants, shows, Dollywood, and so much more than we expected. The Resort itself has two water parks, one indoor and one outdoors. We were shocked that it was a serious water park indoors. We did not use it because we are a little on the old side, but if we had grandchildren this would have been lots of fun for them. The condo itself is very large, very clean, and extremely well equipped. We have made over 100 RCI trades since 1982, many to Wyndham resorts, and this resort has nice cooking equipment, a modern well stocked kitchen, a nice washer and dryer. The bed in our bedroom was extremely comfortable, and they give you several pillows to choose from. The bathroom in the master side is VERY NICE with a whirlpool tub and separate shower. The guest side has two nice full sized double beds (maybe queen), and the bath is as nice as in many nice homes for the children. We had an issue with a remote control and the ice maker. We called the first morning. Both were fixed within 20-minutes. If you let them know about a problem, they take care of it immediately. The gentleman who came to our condo was VERY NICE!!! We are here Thanksgiving week. They even gave us a turkey tray. We chose not to use it and will leave it for the next guests. The only thing in the condo that I did not understand was the location of the trashcan in the coat closet. Strange location, but we made it work. There were also small flies in the unit. We spoke with another guest who said that this is common in this part of Tennessee. I am giving the resort a rating of 4 out of 5 for one specific reason. My wife had to work which put us checking in about 1:00 AM after a 13-hour drive. My brother and his wife were staying with us and wanted to check in at about 4:00 which was check-in time. We were told that we had to buy an RCI guest certificate for them to check-in before our arrival. This cost us $89. We have been Timeshare owners since 1982. We almost never travel alone, and we have made 2-3 trades per year. We have traveled with other people to their timeshares. NEVER in 39 years have we been told to buy a guest certificate when we were arriving at two separate times. We sent my daughter to Orlando on her senior trip, and she checked in at age 18 with a 30-year-old chaperon we had sent on the trip with four seniors. It is my feeling that the demand for a guest certificate was a money grab. When I asked RCI about it they said that this was NOT A NEW POLICY and that this is directly a decision by the resort itself. It is my opinion that they made us spend $89 that we did not need to spend. Negatives about the resort that you need to be aware of. These things did not bother us, but they will bother other people. 1) There are lots of families with small children that run all over the place and make lots of noise. This does get aggravating at 11PM, but we are a family of schoolteachers, so we did not say anything. We are very accustomed to being around children. 2) The resort is huge and there are times when you must park far from your condo. If you are at one end of the building be sure to know that there are doors at the end that are locked 7PM-7AM but you can open them with your wristband (key). In conclusion, when we trade via RCI or rent a condo I have one question I ask myself to determine if this was a successful trade/rental. I ask, “If I moved to this town could I live in this unit for a few months while I was looking for a home?” The answer for Club Wyndham Great Smokies lodge is a definite YES. This would provide a family of 2 a lovely home, maybe even a permanent home. A family of three or four could live here comfortably for a couple of months before they feel like they are on top of each other. We chose this Resort because of the location. Couples Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Great Smokies Lodge. We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe, the rooms were big and it was very clean, which aided in us thoroughly enjoying our stay. We felt welcomed from the time of check in to the ease of check out. Chip was our concierge and he was very helpful and knowledgeable about everything we asked him about. The best part was there was not extreme pressure to do a timeshare presentation! We are looking forward to our next trip to Tennesse and we definitely play to stay here again! Very nice property

Very nice property, situated away from most of the madness of the Pigeon Forge area. Close enough to venture there, or to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains on day trips, without the constant hassle of traffic and noise. As an existing Wyndham timeshare owner I visiting on an exchange I was unhappy with the sales staff's push for timeshare presentations/attraction tickets. I was unable to get my room keys after a long day of travel until I strongly protested. The resort is worth visiting, however. We were very satisfied with the room, amenities, accessibility from airports, and proximity to restaurants, grocery and attractions. Family trip with grandparents and cousins!

Great 2-bedroom condo with all the amenities we needed for a great week. Super comfortable beds and a quick walk to Wilderness to the indoor and outdoor water park. Golf two courses on property. We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was a very nice, clean a perfect spot to sit back and relax. Check in was very easy and when we requested anything it arrived promptly.
