Amazing

I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to Yasmin! She was amazing all throughout our stay with you! She made our night!! First of all she was so polite and made us feel very welcome, it was quite a busy night but she always made sure we were okay and had everything we wanted, we had a slight complaint about our food but she made sure every thing was sorted, she is one very lovely young lady, she told us she had only been with you a few days but honestly, I felt like she had been there years! Kirk was also on that night and he was very friendly too, very funny young chap. Food was absolutely fantastic, and the wine selection :P will definitely be back!! Do not book a spa break here!

What a disasterous spa weekend. We were emailed the night before arrival to say we could not have our pre-arranged treatments due to ‘staffing issues’. The spa area itself is very run down, pool is freezing cold, so we didn’t go in. Our package included a cream tea, which we had arranged at a pre-booked time, only to have to sit & wait over 30 mins for it to arrive. The 2 gents trying to run the spa area did not seem to know what they were doing. Towels and bathrobes seemed like gold dust and the changing facilities needed a major clean. When I complained about the lack of treatments in the spa, a lovely lady named Claire tried to remedy the situation. She was the only beautician working and had agreed to help them out (this was her first week) and she was clearly overworked due to the poor organisation of the spa bookings. The hotel management do not deserve her great service, and she pulled a rabbit out of the hat & got me a slot for a pedicure (after her regular working day had ended). Top marks for Claire. She deserves a medal to put up with the nightmare that is the hotel & its management. The rooms are dated, in desperate need of upgrading. Rooms were also very cold, so not a great nights sleep. No hairdryer in the room, had to ask reception for one. All in all, a terrible experience and would not recommend to anyone until the owners can get themselves better organised, get more staff and invest in the hotel. Disappointed

We came here a couple of years ago and were very impressed, thus booked again. This time we were really disappointed with the service, the room and the poorly maintained building. We waited 45mins in the lobby to check in despite there being two members of staff checking guests in. The lobby had a stale fishy smell which spoiled the ambiance of the nicely decorated lobby. The guests on the queue in front of us returned to the lobby while we were still checking in to say their room had not been cleaned ... they were left standing with no apology while the receptionist moaned about the cleaning staff. The check in staff were curt and unfriendly and did not leave one feeling welcomed. Our room was clean and satisfactory. The bathroom clean with some quality, complimentary toiletries. The radiators in the room did not work and it was a chilly night. Thankfully we had a lovely hot bath to warm up in the morning. The iron and ironing board were a godsend to iron out the creases before our fancy dinner out. The hairdryer was not working. Coffee and tea facilities with biscuits were appreciated. Breakfast was satisfactory and the staff friendly and eager to help. However, they were run off their feet and very short staffed which meant that tables were not set properly, crockery had run out and not replaced which left lots of diners waiting before they could eat or get a coffee. The outside of the building is poorly maintained and the gardens in need of attention. It's such a shame as the buildings and gardens have so much potential and I can't help but wonder if 'a stich in time would save nine'. We decided against visiting the spa after reading other guests reviews ... and a chilly swimming pool certainly didn't sound appealing after feeling cold in bed. Terrible. Rude staff and unclean!!

We had been looking forward to this girls weekend away for a while and having visited this hotel and spa on a number of occasions before we have had not thought the events that follow would have happened. Arriving at the hotel we had booked 2 superior rooms which had not been cleaned properly.. one room still had all the dirty towels in and did not look like it had been cleaned properly the other had no towels . Not a great start! We then decided to go to the spa while the rooms were cleaned. Hmmmm first impressions of the spar not great and unclean and shabby. (Not what we had experience before here). The gentleman at the reception could not offer us any large towels , robes or slippers... this is a spa is it not! When asked if he could get us some he was rude and said sorry no we have not had any clean towels back from the laundrette. He then said " your also here late ! We could not book in until 2pm and were in the spa by 2-30...!! Hmm. Excuses!!!!!! We then went into the spa and again were disappointed.. the pool was cold.. floor looked dirty..steam room was dirty and had what we can only describe as mold on the walls..errrr. The changing rooms were just as bad and the toilet seat was broken.. I went to speak to the gentleman on the spa reception and he was rude and very aggressive towards me and also another member of staff who was trying to help. I dont think I have ever experience such a rude encounter and as a paying guest this is totally unacceptable!! He told the lady who was trying to help resolve some if the issues, and also being very sympathetic to shut up and not to get involved.. dam rude! We spent the afternoon in our rooms as the thought of the spa made my skin craw and was made to feel uncomfortable about how I had been treated!! The manager at reception offered 25% of one room ..woow £27 .. Customer service and cleanliness of the hotel and spa leaves a lot to be desired... not worth the money !! Would also like to say to the other member of staff on the reception that (27th November) evening to remember that being sarcastic to guests is not very professional. Food in the evening was really good, major plus point but the service with the drinks was again awful. Waited over half hour for a drink and had already eaten our starter . This hotel resembled faulty towers . This place was one of my favourite places to visit.. not any more, we won't be returning ever! Truly terrible!

Just awful! I would first like to say to the girl on reception in the spa, Stacy was the loveliest girl who was nothing but polite and accommodating. You as a business do not deserve her! So we arrive for our spa package, we were given robes, slippers and towels. We filled out forms and had a coffee. We were then going to use the gym and spa before our treatment. There were another group of ladies there waiting for their spa treatments and with ours getting close we went over to the desk. Poor Stacy then had to explain to us that the massage therapist hadn’t turned up and they didn’t know where she was. Obviously we were all disappointed but it wasn’t Stacy fault. A member of management should have explained this to us. Not leaving a young girl to cover the spa, reception and cafe ! This is not right for one person! You could see the distress on her face. We then asked for our money back which we did get and we’re told we could still use the gym and pool. The gym was ok, water dispenser wasn’t clean. The changing rooms! Terrible, dirty and smelly. The pool, freezing cold definitely not ‘heated’ as advertised and there was a very unpleasant damp smell. Very slippery floors and grubby lounge beds. Sauna was ok. Steam room smelt like mould. We generally felt dirty leaving this place. This hotel and spa could be such a lovely place but it was not ok, clean or enjoyable. So glad we got our money back and we won’t be returning. Just awful!
