NEW CHARGES, BE CAREFUL! FIND ANOTHER RESORT.
I have stayed at Dover House many times. All one-bedroom units, under the cabinet refrigerator, clean, but very small units. Only have limited parking and a swimming pool, nothing else. Just learned today that they are not charging an additional $30.00 PER DAY for towels, toilet paper, ice, laundry soap, coffee, wi-fi, shampoo, etc. Really, isn't that normal? This is greed and outrageous! I feel blindsided. I hope everyone is aware of this and refuses to accept it. I have stayed at Dover House many times. Amazing time with family
Enjoyed everything. Check in and check out was very easy. We made use of The pool and The bbq area and they were kept clean and in good shape. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. And of course the beach is right across the street Enjoyed everything. Check in and check out was very easy. We made use of The pool and The bbq area and they were kept clean and in good shape. Second time @ Dover House
My over experience this time was nothing like my first time in 2018. This time I got to re-experience how paper thin their walls & floor are. Above me the guests & the cleaning staff were dragging around furniture & who knows what long periods of time. I requested that they remind guests there are others residing near them & be mindful of their noise. The next day it continued & when I asked to be moved away on day 3 of 7. I was told I’d have to pay the $50 cleaning fee for my unit. When I objected, I was told to call my booking company & have them book me at another resort. I informed them how disruptive & absurd this was & they did moved me to an upstairs unit. None of the staff or cleaning crew wore masks when entering the units. The arm chairs & sofas needs to be thrown out or deep cleaned, my second unit’s was gross. I never sat on them. This unit also had a spot of fresh blood on the wall by the toilet paper holder & waste basket, the sink stopper was partially engaged so the water drained slow & there was no lever to keep it open, the sink caulking was also detached from the wall all the way around, the bedroom had a 19 or 21” old deep box tv while the living room had a huge flat screen & my unit door was hard to close. The first unit’s bathroom fan didn’t work & the only Heppa filter in the hallway/kitchen was grossly dusty. Both units’ tubs were flaking & peeling, the jets in them didn’t work, the kitchen sink faucets sprayed water wildly when switched. The only lighting (dim & orange) to & from the pool & parking lot was at the top of the path near the rear building. So 95% of the pathway was pitch black & unsafe. And it’d be nice if they let you know that starting around 0900, groundskeepers will be high pressure spraying down the exterior walls & windows. They’ve instituted this year, depending on when you booked your stay, a daily $29 resort fee for the use of amenities & parking. For the life of me, with what I’ve seen & explained, I don’t know what amenities they’re referring bedsides the pool & grills. But how many people are REALLY using those when there is a beach across the street, they have no car & they either eat out or cook indoor because it’s too hot outside. And are they buying a huge bag of charcoal when they may only be staying a few days? There’s no hot tub, no workout room, no continental breakfast, the beach chairs & umbrellas that are first come first serve are those left behind from previous guests. Absolutely AMAZING location! Coffee Oceanside ever morning & 30 sec walk to your feet in the sand! Sea-turtle hatching observations on the beach is a plus too; very interesting! We will definitely make another trip to this resort! Absolutely AMAZING location! Coffee Oceanside ever morning & 30 sec walk to your feet in the sand! Got exactly what I expected.
Resort was beautifully located across the street from the ocean. We did not use the pool, co cannot comment on the pool. Parking is limited directly outside the units, but there is plenty of parking a short distance away that the property owns. Short distance of a walk to all the major restaurants on Atlantic Avenue. Unit was on the small side. Kitchen and Bathroom could use some repairs, Bedroom was large and there was enough strange in the dresser in the bedroom and living room for your clothes. All in all, this is a typical beach resort. Resort was beautifully located across the street from the ocean. We did not use the pool, co cannot comment on the pool.
