Close to Ocean

Yuppie hotel near the Atlantic Ocean. Beautiful scenery of beach, waves, sunrise. Really enjoyed sitting on balcony and viewing the ocean. This resort has a nice restaurant, outdoor pool, outdoor grill, patio with live music, entrance to beach, beach chairs with umbrellas, etc. Close to St. Augustine sites and activities. Great Beachside Hotel

Loved this beachside hotel. The hotel was very close to the St. Augustine lighthouse, which was convenient for us. The trolley also comes to this hotel, which makes traveling into the downtown district a breeze. We would definitively stay here again. Rooms were clean and modern. Loved this beachside hotel. Stopped here last minute on way down the coast. 240.00 for a partial ocean view room. Two towels, two washcloths and 1/2 roll of toilet paper for 4 adults. Room is “average”No free breakfast. coffee in the morning is 3.50 a cup. Two elevators , but only 1 working. No way a resort and no way worth the money. Not a Resort

Staff was very friendly. No towel or grab bar in the tub and I had to put a towel down so I would not slip. Not much counter space in the bathroom. Not much hot water at all in the sink but was hot in the tub (couldn't understand that). Girls at chair rental were very nice to get me down to the beach in a chair. Room was kind of small and there were only 2 of us. Never left enough wash cloths. Pool area was very nice but a hot tub would have been nice. I would not classify this as a resort by any means. Go through the week because weekends are very noisy and you can hear what's going on in the next room. I would also say that the balcony did not appear to be very safe to lean on. Beach made it worth it!

First, let me just say if you're expecting big rooms, you will be disappointed. The rooms on the resort's web page looked much bigger. The balcony is very small. We could see the beach at a distance, but we had a tall palm tree in the way, and I had to stand up to see over the railings. The place does look older and it does remind me of a Holiday Inn that has been redecorated. The beds were terrific-super comfortable. The shower was OK, but the bathroom is small. Be careful when you enter the room; the first part of the floor is ceramic made to look like wood and it can be slippery. I took a nasty fall. Wifi-impossible to stay logged on, so that stunk. Don't bother to bring your computer-it was nothing but maddening frustration. Amenities: There is a good sized room fridge, but it needed to be defrosted. The TV and choices on the TV were great, and there is plenty of good lighting. The room is very clean, which is nice. There is a small Kuerig type coffee maker in the room-but only coffee, no choice of tea or anything else. Someone did come in while we were on the balcony, and changed the towels and took the trash without saying they were coming in to the room. That did not make us feel great. Beach access: it is not too far of a walk, and the beach is stunning. There were very few people there because we went during the middle of the week, and it was lovely. It was the best part of the stay. Yes, the place is pet friendly, but there is a fee, so be sure to check that out. Dinning: if you want a reasonably priced meal-skip this place.
