Great stay
We arrived an hour early and they were able to find us a room to check in. Everything went smoothly and check in was quick and easy. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean. We sat outside by the pool every day. There were plenty of empty chairs around the pool. We enjoyed the lazy river and the slide. I will say that the lazy river was closed the first three days of our six day stay. The Mexican restaurant was serving breakfast, but the price seemed high so we didn't try it. We used the laundry room as well and everything was fine. Great hotel for the price. We arrived an hour early and they were able to find us a room to check in. The red lion does not have what they advertise!! There is no mex restaurant just a overpriced breakfast they want to steal from there fake resort fee!!!! The lazy river and water slide is never open!! Place is a joke!! The red lion does not have what they advertise!! Beware - BED BUGS and Rude employees
Do yourself a favor and book someplace else. We found bed bugs. During check-in we were not informed that housekeeping didn’t come every day. Housekeeping came on our first day, so we just assumed they would come every day and put our towels on the floor the next day. On our second day, after a long day at Disney, we came back and housekeeping hadn’t come. We called the front desk frustrated since we didn’t have clean towels and that’s when they told us that they come every 3 days, which was weird bc they had come the day before. My husband got frustrated and kept asking questions why we weren’t informed ahead of time, and Pura, the night employee on staff, hung up on him twice. When I tried calling the front desk the third time she didn’t even bother picking up. They were extremely disorganized and rudely spoke to us, but at that point we didn’t want that to ruin our vacation so we let it go after she gave us fresh towels, which I had to pick up as she couldn’t be bothered to drop them off. The next night we came back after another long day. We laid down in bed and I noticed my ankle was itchy. We took a look at our sheets because I thought it was weird since we were in a hotel and I hadn’t seen any mosquitoes. There were little black dots all over the sheets by our feet. We saw one of them wriggle and that’s when I got upset and realized it was BED BUGS. We called the front desk and it was Pura again who said she couldn’t do much until Chad, the assistant manager, came in the next day at 10 am. She offered us a change of rooms or we could leave. She said she couldn’t take a look because she has back issues. My husband went down to speak to her and she got him in contact with Chad who just gave him the runaround but no concrete plan of action. I went downstairs to speak to them crying and they had zero compassion. Just spoke to us like we were making up the situation and had no plan of action. They have no ability to resolve any issues. Only talk around and not give answers or take responsibility. They said that the exterminator may not come until Monday after our check out date on Sunday. They kept bringing up the fact that I paid from a third party company so they couldn’t do much. Chad did offer some petty cash for us to do our laundry there, after about 45 minutes of me being on the phone with him asking what the course of action would be. He said his engineer would try to get an exterminator, but no guarantees, and then he said he really couldn’t help me since he was only the assistant manager, and said that his general manager was the only one that could do something. I asked to speak to him, and Chad told me that he couldn’t be contacted, couldn’t do anything until TUESDAY, two days after our check out date. I then took the different room offer since it was 2 a.m. at this point, but when we went to the other room there was white residue all over the counter spaces, like small paint flecks or paper towel residue, and hairs in our sheets and night stand. We called different hotels nearby and got a last minute reservation at the Crowne Plaza Orlando. A much better hotel with caring staff and bed bug free. This definitely put a damper in our vacation. I’m still not certain if our last two nights will be refunded or if they’ll actually call an exterminator. I’m having to spray my personal items with bed bug spray and wash everything as I don’t want to bring bed bugs home. These people shouldn’t work in customer service if they can’t do anything to serve their customers. The most basic trait in customer service - kindness and genuine care goes a long way to a customer in distress, but their response was the complete opposite of that. Nice atmosphere. Clean rooms. Friendly staff
Very nice hotel at reasonable rates. Comfortable rooms. Very clean. Close to parks. Great place for a day tripper like me who goes to the parks and needs a clean place to stay before driving home the next day. Very nice hotel at reasonable rates. Comfortable rooms. Very clean. Nice Facility Needs Improvements
OK,,,,,,, so the Red Lion Hotel is a very nice facility. Our room was very clean and maintained. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean and well equipped, TV was a 50" flat-screen with great picture and clean reception with good selection of channels. Also, the room was very large. Breakfast was served in a buffet style and was very good. The cost was $11.00 each, which isn't bad considering it's all you can eat. There is a very nice variety store on the first floor with most anything you might need from select toiletries and sundry items to souvenirs, drinks, and fresh pastries. The pool area speaks for itself. The pool size is ample and clean with an attached area containing a water slide and lazy river with life guards. So why the average rating ??? 1) Upon check-in, at 4:00 PM, there were only two check-in agents at the desk with a line out the door waiting to get their rooms. 2) We stayed for two nights and upon entering the hallway from our room or getting off the elevator, the stench of marijuana was gagging and constant among other strange burning odors. 3) Children in herds were allowed to run up and down the hallway, playing and yelling until late with some adult behavior that wasn't any better. 4) The pool area needs more seating and the lifeguards need to enforce the pool rules as well as they do the Lazy River and slide. To end on a positive note, the staff in all areas of the hotel were extremely nice and accommodating and the location was very good.
