One Wyndham resort that gets it right

A good, solid upscale hotel with a great location, right in the middle of Old Town Alexandria. They traded away some resort features, such as a pool, for location and for luxury inside. Service was friendly and good. As it happened,I got to spend very little time here because of a companion's change of plans, but I thoroughly enjoyed the time I did spend. A vast improvement over many other Wyndham resorts I've experienced. A good, solid upscale hotel with a great location, right in the middle of Old Town Alexandria. Not accommodating to guests

I am staying here with my brother and his wife. Due to miscommunication, I arrived at 7:00 p.m., and my brother and his wife didn’t arrive till 9:30. I was exhausted after driving from the first leg of our vacation in Pennsylvania. I asked my brother’s wife to call to arrange for me to go ahead and check in. She called and spoke to a man at the front desk, who told her she would have to call Reservations, which was off-site. They called, and Reservations was closed, even though they were supposed to be open till 8:00 p.m. I asked the man at the front desk what other options we had, and he suggested my brother/wife make the request online. They were never able to get that to work. I had to wait 2 1/2 hours, and I couldn’t get the wi-fi password from the night shift person at the front desk. Once my brother finally arrived, his demeanor totally changed. The resort itself is quite nice, but they need to have a simple process where guests can check in ahead of timeshare owners. I own other timeshares and have always to arrange check-in for my guests quickly and easily. I am staying here with my brother and his wife. Beautiful Place , Very European

The two bedroom suite was very large. The toilets and dining room chairs were very short. Everything was very clean. The front desk a little dry. Skip the Wyndham update-- the staff berates you for not buying-- they really should evaluate their roles especially since 2020 turned the hospitatliy industry. The walls were thin- kistening to drunk neighbors was not fun but security did shut them up after my 3 am wake up call. We went for Cherry Blossom Fest and Had a Beautiful time Sunday the first day of full blossom. This place does have a great location in Alexandris, near the expressways. Love my quiet room had difficulty finding it and finding tight/low but free parking

Once I got past trying to find the entrance and then trying to find the parking, my trip was quiet and pleasant. I requested a room on the corner with a balcony so I can sit out and people watch or in this case train watch. It's right on the main drag so if you don't mind walking, the dock, restaurants, and even water taxi or boat cruise are just over a mile away. I think I came on off season so it was so peaceful. The people are friendly and helpful, especially Lamar at the front, the repair man that came to fix my toilet, and the cleaning lady that came to clean up after he left. Now that I know where it is, I would come back. If you are mobility limited, this is at the end of the king mile so you may want to choose another spot. If you want peace, quiet, friendliness, and cleanliness, this is a good pic. You cant see the resort from the street so when the gps says stop, stop and turn in :-) Don't drive a large vehicle either because the parking is tight but FREE. Perfect Location Friendly Staff

We visited January 20. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They serve snacks and drinks in the late afternoon on Friday and Saturday. The location is perfect with easy access to the train station a 5 minute walk. Parking s free, underground. The rooms were comfortable with a fully functioning kitchen. Would definitely return.
