Historic Wigwam never disappoints
We love the Wigwam. This is a historic hotel. Founded as a retreat for the Goodyear Tire company executives a hundred years ago. The design throughout the property is some version of the original adobe design. If you play golf, the property maintains no less than three challenging 18 hole courses. Again, the Goodyear executives played the first golf course. Very well maintained courses even during Covid. There are several dining outlets, including a convenience gift shop that offers up some delicious fresh baked treats and coffee while sitting poolside. Or at one of the properties many fire pits. Staff is extremely attentive. This hotel and golf club is a real treat for just about any occasion. Clearly the locals agree, as there were a lot of weddings going on which added to the vibrant energy of the experience. Bot to mention Santa was available for brunch for our grandson. He was amazing. You cant go wrong with a visit to the Wigwam. Bravo. And keep up the good work. We love the Wigwam. This is a historic hotel. Great resort!
Great destination wedding, spa getaway, golf outing, family get away place… all wrapped up in one! Weather was great in December! Traveled to Sedona for a day trip only. Spa was especially amazing, very relaxing and wonderful staff. Great destination wedding, spa getaway, golf outing, family get away place… all wrapped up in one! Weather was great in December! Great resort in Arizona - Love the partnership with Vikara Events
Just returned from my second stay at the Wigwam Resort - Great resort with all the necessary amenities - I attended a 4 day yoga retreat with Vikara Events and the duo is amazing - I enjoyed being able to balance relaxation with great food and drinks and a pool to boot! If I were in the area again outside of the yoga retreat I would stay here in a second Just returned from my second stay at the Wigwam Resort - Great resort with all the necessary amenities - I attended a 4 day yoga retreat with Vikara Events and the duo is amazing - I enjoyed being able to balance relaxation with great food and drinks and a pool to boot! upgrade, upgrade
I've stayed here two times in about a year. The first time, I booked one of those low-price deals from a third party website and the room reflected it; I was really disappointed, and I see a lot of the same comments I would make in other unhappy reviews (dingy room, weird kitchenette, etc). So when I needed to stay again, I went back to the deal site but selected an upgraded room choice. Upon checking in, the receptionist said I had been upgraded a second time. Except the room was for two queens and I wanted a king bed, so she upgraded me again (lucky, I know). This room was MUCH better and I was so relieved not to be in a dingy room. The takeaway here is, don't buy the bargain. A little more money and perhaps luck at check-in make a huge difference. I've stayed here two times in about a year. Awesome, Stay Here, Best to call and describe what type of room you need
This place is incredibly beautiful, and we really enjoyed our stay here and you will as well. It’s a beautiful, large, and historic hotel. Their two pools, one with a water slide, and both with hot tubs are awesome. They have a wide variety of rooms and suites to choose from. Really large. The last time we visited in August, we had a “tennis suite” which as the name suggests was close to the tennis courts. My wife was working during our August visit and she was on eastern time, her meetings started at 5 AM Pacific Time, so we needed a two room suite with a door separating the bedroom from the main room so I wasn’t seen sleeping in the background during her Zoom calls! This time, we wanted a similar setup. We really didn’t care about being near the tennis court, so I booked the Adobe suite thinking it was the same as our August visit. It wasn’t. Our tennis suite in August was new and modern, the original Adobe suite we had was older, had really bad lighting, and a mildew smell to it. The layout was funky as well. We went back to the front desk and asked for a room swap (I’ve never had to do so in my 59 years - we’re pretty easy to please). The front desk was awesome and quickly got us a key to a different and more updated suite, but when we got there, it was all one really large room with a bed, a couch, a desk, and a table, Argh. Back to the desk we went, and told the helpful desk attendant that we needed a suite with two separate rooms, that we were going out to eat, and she could give us some new keys to a different suite when we got back from dinner. And the boom - we got a super nice suite with a bedroom and a main room that my wife used as an office. The room needed some updates, some of the counter surfaces, flooring, drapes, etc. are showing some signs of age, but nothing that would prevent us from staying again. Perfect stay apart from the initial confusion. I’d highly recommend this place if you’re in the area - plus lots of close by local restaurants and bars to choose from as well as the onsite places.
