Used to be great... But now, not as much
The Hotel Marinas isn't exactly an '' hotel '' : Random people own the apartments and if you want to stay in any of them, you have to talk to them and rent them ( Or buy them ). While this sounds good on paper, it results in getting an apartment being often extremely difficult AND expensive compared to the quality of the rooms, which ain't really that great. Dont get me wrong, its a pretty OK. place, its location is really great, and right in front of it there is one of the best spots of the beach of Tamandare. Howhever, its problem is mainly its service. The worst thing of it, is the restaurant system : The restaurant is third - party : The hotel itself doesn't have its '' Own '' restaurant. Apparently, another restaurant rents it instead. As if this wasn't already something bad, EVERY service in there seems to be extremely slow. You order something simple and then you wait often over half an hour for it to arrive. The hotel's staff got significantly worse and unhelpful as the time passed. Once one of them were rude to me for no apparent reason. They are also setting some pretty nosense rules. For example, when renting an apartment, you have to pay more for each individual person that is gonna stay in there. Result : You cant recieve any guests. And people that dont have the property of any apartment or that didn't rent any cant stay in ANY areas of the hotel. For me it doesn't make much sense. I mean, i somewhat understand it as it is for security measures. But people cant even take a nice look at it without renting an hotel room? The service was much better before. But now its really getting worse. I think there are certainly better options than this. FOOD POISONING! Run down resort, past its peak.
The hotel has nice facilities, swimming pool, restaurant, a nice lobby, but is a bit run down. Looks like a fancy 90's hotel Our room was basic but comfortable. However I got food poisoning the last day of our stay at breakfast. The breakfast (not free) was basic and it looked like the food had been prepared long time ago. I had already been in Brazil a number of weeks so my stomach was already adjusted, so I am certain that the food I ate there was the problem. DO NOT RECOMMEND. offers so much gives so little
We found this hotel on booking.com where the hotel offers free parking on site this is not possible also says LCD TVS again a false claim, the kitchenette lacked in basic facilities and more of the cupboards were locked in our room, and there was no shower head on the shower, this was rectified however. The swimming pool does not open or close according to the times they advertise.always opens later and closes early most of the beach in front of the hotel is taken up by the adjoining restaurant the food is good in the reataurant but seemed to lack in single person dishes this establishment has been crossed off of our list as places to go back to We found this hotel on booking.com where the hotel offers free parking on site this is not possible also says LCD TVS again a false claim, the kitchenette lacked in basic facilities and more of the cupboards were locked in our room, and there was no shower head on the shower, this was rectified however. Could be improved
I'm used to spending my summer vacation in this city but always at a friends house. This time, I decided to stay with my family in this hotel following an indication of these friends, and also because it is close to their house. The hotel is a mix of a apartments and rooms (it seems to me that there are 2 distinct groups that take care of these rooms - there are 2 different sites of the hotel). I opted for the apartment. It has 2 rooms + balcony facing the sea + bathroom. There are refrigerator, microwave, sink and some kitchen utensils. In one room there was a sofa bed and in the other a queen size bed. There is air conditioning in every room, and only 1 TV room. The facilities are not new but are apparently well cared for. The cleaning was also fairly good. Recreation areas could be better sized and better structured (very small pool at available space; gaming room and playground obsolete and small). The breakfast is simple but adequate . The service is reasonably good. The sign of wifi is only available at the front desk , not in the rooms. The hotel location is very good for being over against the sea, but very close to some bars with high music, which is bad when one seeks peace. Another drawback is the lack of parking for guests. In summary, the cost benefit is highly questionable, but for me it was reasonable since I made my reservation in very advance and got good prices for this season. Very strange...
We were looking for a place to stay for the night before setting sail to Maragogi. Usually we check out places and book in advance but this time we decided to go with the flow. After a long and hard drive all we wanted was a clean decent room with a sea view if possible. We saw this place and were reluctant because the outside looked unattractive and dated. But we were so tired we gave it a go anyway. The staff was lovely and at reception I was told they had a room with a sea view but I would have to pay in cash and the room wouldn't be ready for at least ten minutes. I told her we were on our honeymoon and trusted she would give us a decent room... We left our bags with her and went for a spot of late lunch on the beach. The hotel overlooks the beach so the setting is simply perfect, the reception was clean and smart but as we walked out into the garden the pool was of limits, very dirty- but who needs a pool when you can go in the sea? This didn't bother us much, there were also broken benches but we could deal with all this. When we returned they had already taken our bags up to the room - so far so good! The hotel was pretty empty, we hardly saw anyone so I thought it was strange we had to wait so long to be given a room, but ok. We made our way to the room and this is what we found inside: a microwave, an empty fridge(no sign of a mini bar), a plastic bag with holes containing a spare mattress, we then saw plastic cups, plates and cutlery, saucepans, toothpicks, half a pack of napkins, an empty plastic bag, a blender, an empty plastic taperware and another with sugar... Both my husband and I were very confused by this, it looked like someone was living there... Not the sort of thing you expect to find in a hotel room?! It was all just there on a shelf by the entrance... Then the bathroom: we found towels hanging on the rails that looked grey instead of white... The bedding looked straight out of the 80's and there was a massive crucifix hanging on the wall.. In the hand basin we found a half sample bottle of shower gel belonging to another hotel????!!!!- nothing else in terms of soaps etc.p The fixtures were plastic and looked very old... The shower was powerful thou and if you let it run for a good 15 min you would eventually get hot water. The double bed was incredibly uncomfortable and there was a bedside lamp which was unplugged because there was no socket for it to be plugged into!!! The sea view was there but there was no mosquito net on the window and because the room was right above the dirty swimming pool, the Mosquitos were present in abundance so we couldn't keep the window opened... I honestly felt like I was at a uni student's 10sq bedsit. Not really what you expect from a hotel (we paid R$180) so I was really disappointed and would not recommend....
