Another very enjoyable stay

Just returned home from a week at the resort. We stayed there twice in 2018 so it was lovely to return. This time we were in a chalet called Riding High which is right next door to the Ramada Resort hotel and office complex. Riding High is a three bedroom two bathroom chalet spread over three levels so not good for anyone who has difficulties with stairs, no problems for our group . Living area and kitchen is spacious with all the things you need to cook and have meals in the chalet. Very comfortable and lovely and warm. Staff are very nice, we had a little problem with the TV in the lounge which they soon rectified and when the tin opener would not work a quick phone call to the office saw a new one arrive in a few minutes. The timber blinds need updating as they are very heavy and hard to pull up and lower. There is a lot of movement and creaking in the living room floors which is on the second level , tends to make you want to walk on tiptoes so you don’t annoy anyone, the floor needs renailing or gluing down tight I think . There is a balcony overlooking the Main Street with furniture, a great spot to sit and watch the world go by. Some great walks to be done from the resort, the walk to Mt.Hotham on a good formed track taking nearly three hours is a beauty. Did it early in the morning , friends then drove up to Hotham and picked me up then we drove on to Bright over the mountain taking in the great views. Another couple of walks well worth doing are THE ROOM WITH A VIEW and it is a nice but rugged walk into CARMICHAEL FALLS. All in all it is a great place to stay, you can be as busy as you like or just sit back and relax, love it up there in the High Country. Just returned home from a week at the resort. Great place to stay

Dinner Plain has lots to offer as a base for day walks and even overnight hiking. In winter skiing in the village is great for beginners, with a small tow for downhill as well as plenty of X-country skiing opportunities. Mt Hotham, 10km away,provides for more challenging runs. Dinner Plain is outside the Mt Hotham resort area and therefore doesn't cost an arm and a leg to park and stay. Mt Hotham resort entry during the declared ski season is around $55.00 per day to park or visit. You can transit across the Mt Hotham for Free, as long as you don't stop in the resort. No Charge to visit Mt Hotham outside the declared ski season. Our trip in October was great and we went walking every day. There are many walks for different fitness levels, most have great scenery and views. To get the most from your stay a vehicle is recommended as it gives the opportunity to visit other locations in the area. Mt Buffalo, Falls Creek, Bright & Omeo. These are all within 2 hours drive and have plenty to offer. This was our 3rd stay at Ramada Dinner Plain and won't be the last. We spent a week there and could have stayed longer as there were still plenty of things to see and do. Bikes are also good as there are lots of trails and tracks for all riding levels. We previously rode a few tracks, but this time we were focused on the walks. We had a leaking shower and a gas stove where one of the elements didn't work, but generally these units are great. The 3 bedroom units come in a number of different layouts. We have experienced 3 different units and have found they all have things that we loved and some that we would have changed. Some have bedrooms on the ground floor and the living room upstairs and others have these facilities the other way around. Family snow getaway

Great chalets. We started in the Marmot and it was lovely. Perfectly clean, tastefully decorated and all the comforts you need for a cosy snow vacay! The village is lovely and quiet and easy to get around. There is a toboggan run and ski poma in the resort but it just a short shuttle to Hotham. We usually stay in mountain at Falls but Wyndham Club was perfect for us and we will definitely be back. Great chalets. We started in the Marmot and it was lovely. Fantastic Place to Stay in Summer Months

Dinner Plains is an absolute idyllic place to stay if you are wanting to cycle, hike, relax and enjoy fresh air and stunning vistas. Staff are extremely helpful, friendly and great fun. Food at the two hotels open in the summer months was delicious. Two cafes were open serving snacks. Worth taking the trip to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Summer Hiking

Lots of nice summer walking trails closeby. Hotel room was nice with kettle, wine opener, wine glasses, champagne glasses, coffee cups and tea cups. Free WiFi in nice relaxing Bar area with $7 Happy Hour every evening at 5pm. Lots of nice summer walking trails closeby.
