A little bit of History!

This is the old Hacienda that was built by Mario Moreno "Cantinflas" the neww owners have maintain it and its a great place to know how Cantinflas used to live. A lot of it its original and kept in good shape but you hae to consider that most of the furniture its 40, 50, 60 years old. Depends on what you're looking for

My family (wife, 13yo and 11yo) and friends spent a weekend here to celebrate my 11yo boy's birthday. He just wanted to play golf! We booked this with La Purisima basically because we couldn't find rooms in Cantalagua (review coming soon!). Booking process over the phone was easy. But, 50% deposit was not refundable. Clearly stated. Not knowing the place, we booked 2 rooms sharing a bathroom and one room for 6. Price was unexpectedly (and suspiciously) affordable, particularly compared to Cantalagua. Arrived in a Friday. Front desk lady super friendly and willing to accommodate any need. Asked her to show us the rooms. Ended up with 1 room for 6 and 2 rooms for 4, one of which was the very room where Cantiflas used to sleep. First advise: rooms with shared bathroom outside of the Hacienda building: don't even think about it! Awful, like war barracks. Rooms IN the hacienda: nice. Very acceptable. If you are looking for luxury accommodations, this is not the place to be. But all rooms were spacious, clean, with a fireplace, and comfortable. Building and facilities are old. But staff does their best to keep it quaint. Service is fantastic. That weekend, their events division (yes, they do events) we're hosting a group of 80 12 yo campers. We didn't even feel any effect. They are great at keeping things separate. Rosa, the person in charge of the bar and restaurant, is a superhero! She well pamper you all the way. She has been there for more than 20 years and loves her work: don't forget to tip handsomely!!! There was a couple there from New Orleans on a RCI exchange, and they kept a smile in their face all the time. Billiard tables, fire pits at your request, horse riding... You name it. Fantastic for a weekend. And, I am not a golf expert, but my kid and his guests, connoisseurs, said it was a very interesting course. Enjoyed it all the way. Anyway: if you are looking for a luxury retreat with top of the line rooms and services, this may not be the place. Search Cantalagua. But if you are looking for a quaint place, with great service, amenities and affordable prices, don't hesitate to visit what used to be the retreat of the greatest comedian in the history of Mexico: long live Cantinflas!! What one would expect from an old ranch

We stayed here for one night in January 2016. The room (for two adults and two children) was very big. In fact, even the bathroom was bigger than many normal hotel rooms. As expected, the room was spartan with not many luxuries and the fixtures and furniture were old. At least it was tidy and clean. The bed was very comfortable. It would have been nice to have instructions about how to use the TV as we had to call someone to help us. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good. Wifi worked in a small area around the reception area and restaurant. There was no wifi signal in the room. In mid January it was cold, which detracted from our experience. Great New experience

I traveled there with my family last month and was not expecting to find such greatness. The Hacienda has everything it is very well thought of even though it is a Hacienda the rooms are like a luxury hotel. The service is great everyone offers to help make your stay a memorable one. I even got the chance to be in contact with the horses and have a ride. I can't wait to go back with my friends. Great family getaway

Spent a great weekend with my family, very relaxing great landacape and fun golf course. We stayed in a hacienda room, it was very spacious. The people there vere very friendly.
