Not that Nice
The place is ok, The rooms are nice, with the beautiful vistas to the ocean. The restaurant is ok we didn’t like their food it was always over cooked and the same food every day. Also when we arrive we wait for so long for our check in, you arrive to the hotel super tired after long drive, this people in the front desks don’t understand that. Also when they give you the key, no one takes you to your room. You have to find your on way to get there, very terrible. The last thing is the access is not asphalt, this was very uncomfortable bumpy road I hope the can do improvements Regards Valentín The place is ok, The rooms are nice, with the beautiful vistas to the ocean. Reopening month
Service in front desk and restaurants very poor!!! They don’t have any idea how to make comfortable and welcome to customers, they have no manners. They don’t know how to serve tables, sometimes I felt was in a cantina!!! Housekeeping were rude banging the door at our room and entering without permission not leaving at the door at least a note!!! Food quality was poor also, only Asian food restaurant was ok!!! The price we paid is for a 5 Star resort from Cancun or Tulum!!! Overpriced, was only worth have of that, 350 dollars!! I rated this resort 3 Stars!!! The worst part was they allowed reservations of large groups like 18!! In Covid time? The restaurants were so disorganized also de Reservation’s app was a disaster!!! I would never go back there!! Would not recommend that place at all!!! Felt I was scammed!!!! Service in front desk and restaurants very poor!!! Family Travel
I find that it is necessary go to travel in holidays, because many times the job, the study the day to day become in a rutine, many times it’s boring, but many of us tried search a good moment to travel, and nothing better like going to "Decameron Punta Sal", the main reason is enjoy all the wonderful things that a new place can give us. One year ago my family and me went to “Decameron Punta Sal” in Perú, it was one of my best experiences in my life, because we traveled in plane until the aeropuerto and in that part was the Decameron van waiting for us, to take us to the planned place. When I arrived they put us a bracelet and since that moment we could enjoy to different things for example the food, the games, the shows and so on. Later, we went to look the differnets part of the hotel and I could see three pools, and really I love swim, for that I was very exited, later we went to the sea and in the sand were people doing differents games and I could see which people were enjoy that momen, after a few minutes it was already night, and we went to the theater because there they showed show and I’m a big fan of that, later I went a cabain near to the sea and there I could read, and it was very inspiring. Definitely, I recommend this place for people who want to have fun, distract themselves, and above all enjoy as a family, but the best of all is that everything is included!!. Horrible service. Awful food. Takes 3 hours to get a room. Too many rules and fees.
From the moment we arrived it was a bad experience. We arrived on a bus and wanted to enter the property, but you are not allowed to enter (or leave) without a car "for your safety". Not even moto-taxis are allowed (which are cheaper). You have to pay 20 soles just to get a taxi to take you in or out. Once in the resort, we were bounced from lobby to lobby, then sent to a large room to wait like cattle to be checked-in. Then we were informed that the keys to our rooms would arrive between "1 and 3 hours" even though we arrived at 3pm, the checkin time. And then they read us the list of fees (a lost bracelet had a fee of $30, the room key had a fee of $70!!!). If you want a towel for the pool, you have to make a line, fill out a form with your name, id, room number, signature, then the same deal to return the towel. And if you lose the towel, the fee is $20. The buffet is HORRIBLE. REALLY. Being in Peru you expect good food, but no such luck. In fact not only was it bad, my friend and I got sick on the first day and had to go to the medical center (which by the way, closes at 7pm so good luck getting sick at night). They do have a couple of restaurants but if you want to go, you have to make a line at 5pm the day before to reserve a spot. We went to 2 restaurants. In the one that offered pasta I ordered the lasagna and it tasted good, but it was cold, obviously defrosted, In the restaurant that offered meat I ordered the steak, and ... it was good, no complaints there, except that we were forgotten for over 15 minutes (the tables on the edge were all forgotten) and I had to go to the bar, to finally get a coke. The people that work there are not happy and have not been trained to properly treat the guests. Most of the times I asked for something in the dinning area (utensils, salt, water) they servers looked at me annoyed. Twice I had to get up to get things myself (once coffee, another time juice) both times I was scolded because I have to wait to be served, even though the coffee and juice where both at a table in my reach, and this is a buffet where I serve my own food. And of course, no server came over for over 10 minutes, so I had to complain until I got my coffee. They don't have enough employees to take care of the guests (and they even say it with pride, many times we heard "we are sorry, but because of the large influx of guests, we can't ... etc" The pool closes at 7, which is too early I think because there is not much to do at night. They have a "dance club", but the less said about it, the better. And to top it off, on our first night, the power went out. I guess we were just that lucky ;) They have some activities such as kayak, but everything has a fee if it breaks under your use. If the wave turns you over and the cheap plastic kayak breaks, the fee is $2,500!!! When we check-out we had to go again to the cattle room and wait a long time. They gave us a ticket to exchange for a free meal as a thank you, but I didn't want to eat there again and we left. At the exit gate the guard ask us "where are you check out tickets? You can't leave without them!" and I was like, "we were not given any!" the guard then said "they are the meal tickets", luckily I found them and I avoided further headaches, but we were not told to keep the tickets to get out and also ... what if I cashed in the tickets for food? I would not have anything to show as proof of check out. Really stupid system. As you can see, I wrote a lot :) This is because I really did not like this place. But really, this is a place of great potential, for example, the pool is very nice, the rooms are awesome (large and very comfortable) but their service is really SO bad. It seems that the lack of competition (there is no other all inclusive in Peru that I know of) has made them take advantage of their guests, who probably don't know that in other countries they can get treated much nicer for less money. Do NOT go to this place. Spend your money in a better hotel. From the moment we arrived it was a bad experience. Needs improvement
I have mixed feelings about this property, given that I compare it to other all inclusive resorts I’ve stayed in the Caribbean and Mexico. Pros: property is beautifully rustic. Pool is huge and there’s always a chair to sit in. Beach area is spacious with plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. Food at all different stations was wonderful Cons: even though the property has no control of this, it’s a 3 hour drive from Piura airport. It’s a killer. Room is spacious, but the beds are not very comfortable. Property is immense and there are only 2 working bars. Unless you plan ahead when you check out, you may be waiting a long time for a taxi to leave the property. You have to do a reservation with the hotel and they’re not allowed to just call a taxi for you. Quality of alcohol needs to improve or at least have some top shelf available Overall, I would not choose this property again given the long trip just to get to it and I believe they need to improve their service and some of their installations as well I have mixed feelings about this property, given that I compare it to other all inclusive resorts I’ve stayed in the Caribbean and Mexico.
