Our Deerhurst stay in October-November 2021

We loved the hiking trails, disc golf, and the surrounding areas. The view from the balcony and reflections of the sun in the water was spectacular. The unit was very large and comfortable. For this time of the year, the weather was nice and sunny. We loved the hiking trails, disc golf, and the surrounding areas. More Vegan options on the breakfast (all) Menus please

3days/2nights our family stayed here in Autumn 2021 and it was our first time. Usually we go to JW Muskoka but glad we tried Deerhurst to see what it's all about. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to try the spa (amba) as it was fully booked; will suggest booking ahead next time. Food: we are a vegan family and there is a vegan breakfast item right on the menu which is nice but I would hope that the chef team could do better than that by offering some alternatives and even vegan 'eggs/meat' in the buffet. Some places (see Aroma Coffee shops in Toronto) write on their menus: 'All menu items can be prepared Vegan'. We live in an age where there are easy vegan hot meal entree meal preps (or products in the market) where you simply offer things like Vegan Pancakes, Vegan 'Bacon', Vegan cereals or smoothie bowls without being tied to a buffet that 90% caters to meat eaters. The Hotel and it's history are impressive. The grounds and the serene Lake in the back is peaceful. I found the staff to be friendly and professional everywhere we went. EV charger... there are some at the main building (thanks)but there is no proper signage forbiding parking by gasoline vehicles. When we arrived from our 145km trip in our i3s (fully electric), we found a large Dodge Ram pick up truck parked in the EV spot where our charger was installed. Furthermore I suggest another trio set of chargers for the Lakeside lodge building parking lot or at the Very least some outlets and designated spots to use with home brought chargers on AC outlets. Our room was not guaranteed with King beds and so unfortunately we got two double beds. Furthermore the beds were in disarray; the Mattresses were shot (you sink into them) and the headboard fell off the wall on one of them on day 1. ATV Adventures

We didn't stay in the resort but did the ATV adventure tour. Everyone was very friendly and we had a wonderful time. Our guide was knowledgeable and supportive. We started out easy and got progressively more adventurous as the afternoon went on. Even though I was a bit scared at parts out guide was kind and gave me the confidence to keep going! We will definitely be back! We didn't stay in the resort but did the ATV adventure tour. Everyone was very friendly and we had a wonderful time. Our guide was knowledgeable and supportive. Great Muskoka Fall Colours Getaway!

We were excited to come over the Thanksgiving weekend to enjoy the fall colours as a family of 6 adults. The last time we were here was in the winter of 1997. I was nervous after reading some of the mixed reviews, came with an open mind, and pleasantly found that this resort exceeded my expectations! We arrived Thursday evening and the man at the check-in was friendly and thoroughly explained about the dining, and activities. We got special wristbands for proof of vaccination and the Welcome Folder with Resort Map. We were able to drive and park right in front of our Hillside 3 Bedroom accommodation. This made unloading our luggage and food so easy! Well the condo was CLEAN & SPACIOUS with a balcony, a fully stocked kitchen (except I knew to bring my own pans for the oven), lovely gas fireplace, and an ensuite bathroom in each bedroom. There were ample towels and toilet paper and we did not need anything replenished during our 3 days. There was a garbage dumpster close by so we could dispose our own trash when needed. We enjoyed an evening walk on the lit Starlight Trail and saw the Milky Way and even a shooting star! The next morning we woke to the spectacular fall colours all around. Our group went kayaking/canoeing each day and the staff at the Beach Point were all friendly and helpful pointing us to the canal that links Peninsula Lake with Fairy Lake. The outdoor pool and hot tub in front of the Lakeside Lodge was really nice! We took advantage of the Lakeside 9-hole golf included in the resort fee each day of our stay. The staff in the pro shop (Tim & others) were super friendly and accommodated me each time I had to change our tee times. We enjoyed our 1-hour pre-booked time in the Family Rec Room with ping pong table and basketball challenge. The indoor pool and hot tub was really nice especially on a rainy day. The Craft Beer Hike was a lot of fun even in the rain with rewards of beer and delicious brownies at the top of the Lookout Trail. We did not eat at any of the restaurants as we cooked our own food. It was nice that there was an option to order “Turkey Dinner To Go” if you wanted. We LOVED our time at the Deerhurst Resort and look forward to coming back again! Not impressed

travelled for a business meeting. The exterior looks impressive but the staff seems bothered to help you. Dinner was a hot mess. Ordered at 7:15 - didn't get food until and hour and half later.
