AMAZING

The staff is not only welcoming but there to help you make your vacation memorable. It was nothing short of amazing. So very helpful you never felt out of sorts being in a foreign country ALWAYS willing to help you navigate thru thing you were uncertain of ie; buses and taxis etc . They will even call your taxis to and from according to your needs, and order your pizza from the local pizzeria and it’s delivered hot and delicious. A great Italian experience. - not for the wimpy

This is our second time visiting this location, and unlike the most recent negative reviews, we were aware that the location was out of the way, requires a car, and requires you to be a little self-sufficient to really enjoy your stay and maximize the experience. That means the accommodations are European in style and size, you have to go to the grocery store if you want to cooks meals, and you have to do your research to really enjoy the resort - it’s a great place to base your explorations from. It is convenient to mass transit (Pontadera) which can whisk you to Milano, Roma, or Firenze. You will experience a more realistic Italian experience staying here than the typical HGVC property, but that is part of the charm. We lived in Italy for three years a long time ago, and this location allows you to experience “la vera Italia”, as opposed to a plastic resort experience where someone is waiting on your every need and you go home thinking you know something about where you just visited, as evidenced by a couple of the recent posters, who are apparently clueless. And for the one poster who complained that the location “ . . . is not even in Tuscany, it’s in Pisa . . . “, learn how to read a map - Pisa is in Tuscany . . . Average at best

Although the rooms are spacious and clean, there are a few things I didn't like at all. The wifi connection is one of the worst ever, off and on. The coffee machine takes 20 minutes to brew 2 small cups of coffee, really? The pool was closed!! The location is somewhat off the beaten track, but not a big deal. All in all, Hilton certainly has better things to offer. Although the rooms are spacious and clean, there are a few things I didn't like at all. If you’re reading this, you can do better

Ignore the Hilton website. Phrases like “an Italy timeshare resort with unending old world charm” and “this Tuscany vacation resort is located in the quaint village of Selvatelle” are misleading. These are regular, charmless apartments, with cheap modern furniture, a pool and nothing else. Note Selvatelle is a working town, with very limited places and hours for food and no activities. Remember too, you’re not in Toscana, you’re in Pisa. It’s not the true glorious Tuscan countryside- it’s a bit out there. It’s fine, the way farmland in Wisconsin is fine. There’s a nice view, but the breathtaking views grow exponentially as you head toward toward San Gimignano and Sienna. The lack of any additional amenities really stops this from being a resort- it’s just an apartment complex. They do sell bottles of wine in the tiny reception area, but the woman at the front desk actually discouraged us from buying wine there, saying these were more “commercial” wines, and their members typically went around to better local vineyards. Huh. There is a vending machine with trace amounts of food, and a kind baker does sell bread for a half an hour several mornings out of the back of her van in the parking lot. There are no lawn games or activities of any kind. There isn’t it even furniture on the terraces. I don’t quite know how we, also HGVC members, seemed to be so out-of-the-loop on this one. Let’s be real- if you’re reading this review, you can afford one of the many spectacular Tuscan villas or agriturismo apartments or hotels in much lovelier parts of Tuscany. In fairness, there was good bedroom space (though not much living room space) for our family of five, and there was a washer. The AC worked well and it was quiet after the farming was done for the night. If you have points to burn like we did, sure, you can stay there, but it’s not a HGVC destination property by a long shot. Keep looking hot your dream Tuscany location. Ignore the Hilton website. Worthwhile

We had a wonderful ten nights here. Because of restrictions the place was half empty although it felt deserted. Everything was spotless and covid secure. You do need a vehicle to get around to visit nearby places and get food or restaurants. We try and get here every year, it's well worth it. We had a wonderful ten nights here.
