As good as i remembered it to be

Stayed here again after many years. Upkeep of the rooms are still great. Spacious room, nice toilet, bathtub with separate shower room. Still as busy though..with functions at the ballroom in the lobby. Shopping centre just opposite so you can get anything that you might need. However, the internet access might be a bit of a problem because i heard that they need to send the password via mobile to a local registered number. They do have a LAN wire in the room though, which didnt work in my case. Huge breakfast buffet area to cater to the large number of rooms they have. This hotel is nearly 50 stories high. Food is more catered to the Chinese palate. Dont see much Westerners at this hotel though. Hefei is not your typical holiday destination i guess. Wont hesitate to stay here again. very large and comfortable room

Great rooms & facilities

Second time I have stayed here, really nice rooms, spacious & very well fitted out, WIFI is good. A modern well specified hotel if it was in Hong Kong you would be paying £450 plus per night I paid £75 per night great value. Huge swimming pool, main buffet resturant is also very good. Excellent hardware

Arrival was ok, they are not helping guests with their backs. Hotel is huge. 52 floors. Check-in was ok. Room Overall very good. Rather large and in very good condition. Really fully Sheraton level with the cost of RMB 300. Amazing! Ok this happens in China sometimes. Aircon worked ok. Bed was great. Soft enough for westerners. Pillows were all soft, I would prefer a bit harder ones. Bathroom was good and spacious with lot of light. Shower and bath were both good. TV was ok, but the number of western channels is limited. CNN, AXN and I think also HBO. Chinese restaurant on 2nd floor was great. Food was superbly good and price value ok. Using iPad for picking the food was bit difficult. Restaurant was also pretty empty. I guess as prices are relatively high for Anhui. Not so for tier1 cities in China. Enclosed some food pictures. Breakfast It is a real mess. Very dissapointing for any westerner. Kind of a major contrast to otherwise such a decent hotel. People behave like they do in countryside. Rude & noisy. Food selection is passable for Chinese. They had luckily some ok fruits, youghurt, Danish and decent fried eggs. If you are able to communicate with the chefs, I guess they may be able to get you an omelette (no guarantees). They did not have black coffee and orange juice... Both are something I am used to get even in basic hotels. Their readily mixed milk coffee tasted like "mouldy tap water with a twist". They had some beer as well in fridge. However, I could not find any water. What's not so good? Lack of English skills. Service may be sort of hit and miss. Big minus is their messy breakfast, which does let any westerner really down. Also really crowded elevators. Not first time this happens in a high rise hotel (remember 52 floors). To sum it up: Empark Grand offers excellent price value. Next time I will stay here as well. Room rate is at lowest below RMB 300 without breakfast. Definitely a good hotel

Kind personnel. Clean and spacious rooms. The bathroom was very well equipped and clean. The restaurant has a very wide and comprehensive buffet and the price is definitely affordable for an European. The breakfast buffet was also very satisfactory. Kind personnel.
