Love Our Vacation

Loved our vacation here. Diana Barrios helped make our vacation destination so special! Our friends we were travelling with were going to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Diana not only made their anniversary a special one but she was always there with a smile. She arranged a fantastic supper on the beach, organized our meal & made it a fantastic evening. She is always there during the day & checking on us when she sees us to make sure all is well. She is a sparkly, fun, happy person that makes your vacation better. The hotel is great, it is a busy place & lots of people so you have to be prepared for that. Around the pool is very bust but it is wonderful. We are Canadian but I have never met so many wonderful families that have made us feel like we belong. My friends on Facebook has grown! Yes there is a language barrier but we love it here! I highly recommend the Sunscape! Again I want to say what a charm Diana Barrios is, she helped make our vacation a GREAT one! Loved our vacation here. Next time we go on a couples trip we won’t pick one with a kids water park!

We should have seen the signs. But we heard so many positive reviews of the place. We left our three boys behind and came for an exclusive couple trip. And, we love seeing all the babies around. The kids are really beautiful….but they are with almost every group. This resort seems to cater to the very young family. We feel like our 7 year old is the max age for the kids programming. Our 8 and 12 year olds would be too large for the water park. Our room is perfect. We’re on floor 19 with full ocean view. With that however, comes raging loud music from weddings what seems every night until 11 or 12. I sleep with earplugs and still hear the base drumming through them. Other guests have shared with me they cannot get their kids to sleep it is so loud. There are not many other things to do in the resort after the pool closes, so you’re kind of forced to go off the resort or sit and listen to the party you’re not invited to. We paid for internet for the week as it is not included. They have a daily or week long fee for 2 devices per room. Initially, we thought maybe we would pay extra for the Sun Club to get the “free” internet. I’m glad we didn’t pay the fee. The SunClub room is like a glass fishbowl at the front of the hotel. There are plenty of beautiful palapas available for regular members. Apparently they get better in room service for things like toiletries and the bar fridge. One perk is in room food service is included. With the long line ups to restaurants that would be a perk. The “top shelf” liquor is pretty run of the mill like Bacardi etc. The servers really are the heart of the place. Alicia, Raymundo, and Antonio pour their lives into their work day in and day out. We loved how small the resort is for the first couple of days. Everything is close together and easily walkable. But, as the hoards of people entered Friday morning we realized there was no escaping the “noise” of party. There is often music coming from 2-3 different buildings all at once and it clashes. This is not the hotel for a peaceful or tranquil vacation. Pool service does not open until 11am and it closes at 7pm. Everyone must get out of the pools. By 11pm all bars and restaurants are closed. You’re left with 2 water bottles, 2 cans of Modela beer and 1 Coca-Cola (sometimes) in the in room beer fridge. The hotel is very clean. And, service is denied unless you wear a face mask. All Mexican patrons get their temperature measured before entering a restaurant. It is not common for North Americans to be asked. The beach is gorgeous! However, the waves are very powerful. If you go out beyond the break the water is still beautiful. There is a life guard on watch. Unless you ate a strong swimmer I would not recommend swimming here. Playing in the waves is still fun for many. As an aside, we took a day trip via bus to Zihuatanajo and found the waves much more mild at la Ropa beach. The food at the resort is good but not excellent. It’s tastes nice and has pretty presentations. I have yet to have a meal here that is a stand alone or one that I would recommend. (If you’re a sushi fan though, go across the street to ATA Sushi. We were super fans of the sashimi salad, the sopresa roll (without cream cheese) and the rainbow roll. Food was so good we went a second night in a row.) We brought our own cups to cut back on the amount of garbage we produce. The bartenders fill your drink to the brim! We should have seen the signs. good hotel for Families

one of the things that stood out for me was the cleanliness of the whole resort, in fact Ixtapa is a very clean area. the layout of the hotel is very nice, easy to find anything you wanted. The staff are very helpful and friendly although they were all pleasant some I encountered stood out for me. in the restaurant ,Antonio, Benito and Alicia. At the pool bar Simon and Raymundo At the Blue wave Patricia and Victor. At the lobby bar all the waiters! By the pool Jesus was very helpful. Entertainment group Raphael was tops as were the rest of the group especially the lady from Cuba whose name I forgot. Phenomenal

We visited for 3 days to celebrate our cousins quinceanera Everything was beyond amazing! The staff were so friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The place was incredibly clean. I saw staff cleaning at all parts of the day, and our rooms was constantly freshened up and replenished. Food was delicious from each of the restaurants! Benito, and Nayeli the servers at the buffet and Raymundo the bartender at the swim up bar were the absolute best! Those three really went above and beyond and were the kindest most attentive people I’ve ever experienced. They are the ones who really made our family’s trip so amazing! I’m so thankful we got to meet those three and experience such a phenomenal trip. Visit Sunscape for the beautiful views, fantastic amenities and amazing staff! is this really food
