South Mountain Preserve
The location is very nice. Staff was very nice and quick when we needed extra items. It was a little noisy because our unit was over the parking lot/street. We could hear resort workers in the morning and cars in parking lot. Our unit had a very dirty carpet. So dirty that my wife threw away her white socks that she wore all the time in unit. South Mountain Preserve
This a very nice vacation rental located in a quiet area near the South Mountains. Very little traffic. I would highly recommend you consider it if you are planning a trip to Phoenix. Excellent location
I loved location of the resort having South mountain preserve out the back door. Short Uber ride from downtown tempe was also very nice and 15 minutes from airport. Only issue was bed being little uncomfortable but other than that I enjoyed my vacation. I loved location of the resort having South mountain preserve out the back door. Very Dissatisfied
Very dirty and old furnishings. Looked like everything came from the side of the road. Furniture broken, nothing coordinated and the rugs filthy. I would also like to add that while at the resort I had an accident behind the resort and it took 45 minutes for the fire dept. and ambulance to find the place. It is not called the Desert Arroya Resort. It is known as Worldmark By Wyndham Very dirty and old furnishings. Looked like everything came from the side of the road. RCI Members- Beware
We stayed at WorldMark Phoenix-South Mountain Preserve from Oct. 6-13th, 2021 in, what we found out to be, a building just reserved for RCI guests. We found that the majority of buildings in the complex are owned by Wyndham/WorldMark. These had been updated and renovated after the two companies above had purchased the resort, except for the building that RCI members are placed in. We had been reading reviews by other RCI members, who for the past 2+ years had been commenting about the poor quality of the units, especially the rugs. We thought that these reviews might be exaggerated so we decided to take a chance. Boy, were we wrong. The rugs were unbelievably dirty and stained. (We ended up throwing our socks away after washing them as they were stained from the rugs.) The unit was very outdated--furniture and appliances. Most Wyndham/WorldMark units have garages below them for parking cars as it can be very warm in Phoenix---not the RCI ones. The gas grills in the Wyndham/WorldMark unit areas looked very nice and new; the RCI building had an old, dirty charcoal grill that we would NEVER think of using. We even had to pay for Internet (only 2 devices could be used)-$15.95---could not customize the length of stay. We understand that Wyndham/WorldMark owners do not need to pay this fee. No linen exchange midweek.TVs were small, outdated and challenging to use as we had to unplug a series of cables several times to get them running correctly. We have been a part of RCI for 15+ years, we have never encountered such a discrepancy of unit quality as we found at WorldMark Phoenix-South Mountain Preserve (old Desert Arroyo).
