Love hotels that have no carpets!

What I loved about this hotel: On the beach location; no carpets; shampoo, conditioner and soap are on-the-wall dispensers so no need to pollute with little bottles; breakfast was very good; easy check-in and good service. What I would improve: Head of bed faces the bathroom, so when my husband turned its light on at 2:00 AM, that was the end of my night rest; although security does not seem to be a problem, both back gate and side doors were not locked. In Need of a Serious Update/Cleaning

The exterior is beautiful, as is the lobby. The rooftop bar is great. Wonderful ocean view, good drinks and food. Service was slow as there was only one server working at a very busy time. I would go there again. The rooms are very dated. Not vintage decor in a good way. The best part were the wood floors, beyond that, the bathroom was nasty with mold and rust everywhere. The walls were in need of paint, the bed linens were not of good quality. The window blinds didn't fully close and were dirty. I was expecting dated, but not to the extent of what we experienced. Staff were cordial, but not friendly. This is not a hotel I would stay at again, even though the price was very reasonable for the area. The exterior is beautiful, as is the lobby. Very Disapointed

Stay elsewhere. The room we were given (room 108) was disgusting. The place is old but there is no reason why it can't be updated with needed repairs. We are sorry we stayed there and certainly will not ever return. Room 108 had very large holes in the walls all over. 2 of 3 outlets were dead. Fire detector broken and not working. Faucet corroded. Great Historic Hotel

Great Historic Hotel from the 1920s went here for a Private Birthday Party, Great Bar on the roof made the best Old Fashioned I ever drank. Really takes you back in Time, Large Room with antique Furnishings. Close to lots of stuff in Jacksonville Beach. Had a very good stay. Don't judge a book by its cover!

Needs so much updating. A great idea, perfect location, decent staff, super potential but just needs so much help. Dark, dreary, dated--falling apart! My room was so depressing, worn out, and not even a chair to spare! My high hopes deflated immediately. Yes, it was more budget-friendly for high season, but I'll stick to my usual spots in the future even for a bit more money. (I'm a regular in Jax b/c of Mayo visits.) great roof top bar with yummy food! Needs so much updating. A great idea, perfect location, decent staff, super potential but just needs so much help.
