Fantastic adventure

We visited Chaudiere Lodge late September 2021. The lodge was clean, well organized, the staff incredibly helpful and friendly and the fishing fantastic. We stayed in the Blue Jay cabin which was very cozy and warm, the views incredible. Food was very good with 2 choices at each meal. The portions were huge. We hired a guide (Pete) who was excellent, kind, patient and knowledgeable. Overall and fun and thoroughly enjoyable experience. We visited Chaudiere Lodge late September 2021. Fishing Lodge in Northern Ontario

This resort is a northern Ontario fishing lodge and it was our first visit. First and foremost, the food was amazing. It was like a 5 star restaurant every night. It is a beautiful spot on the French River and they take you across to the island in a boat. The staff were extremely helpful with our luggage and other needs. The only one complaint we had was that our cabin was a duplex , and unfortunately we could hear every thing that was happening in the adjoining cabin .. eg doors slamming etc. My only request if we return again is that we have a single cabin Would definitely recommend this lodge to our friends. Amazing Guides and Fishing!!

My wife and I spent 6 days/5 nights at Chaudiere in July 2021. The management staff and owner bent over backwards to accommodate, not only us, but all guests (thank you, Craig and Cole). Their regular response was ‘yes, we can definitely do that, just tell us what you need!’. Although the rooms are somewhat dated, it was a comfortable cabin. The porch was newly screened in and was enjoyed every night of our stay. The main lodge and dining room are very inviting and was nice to relax in to watch the ball game. We went on 3 guided fishing days, and the guides truly made our trip a fabulous one — big thanks to Pete and Billy. They were both welcoming, experienced and fun. We truly appreciated them sharing stories, laughter and tricks to catching over 125 pickerel… errrr I mean Walleye over 2 days. On day 5, Pete also remembered it was my birthday and called us back to the lodge where he brought out a piece of cake with candle after our long fishing day with him. Thanks Pete! The caliber of the food was unexpected for a fishing lodge. Kudos to the chefs! Matt, Connor and Riley on the deck were very prompt each time we returned from a fishing trip and were helpful and outgoing. Riley even assisted a mother and her children by taking them out fishing with him (definitely not his job but he wanted to ensure they had a positive and fun day). I normally don’t negatively call out any service staff by name but…… There was downside we experienced from one of the deck hands named Colin. He was not only rude to us but also to senior visitors. We rolled with it and did not let these interactions with him sour our experience, but we felt for the other guests. Thanks for the great time —— we have already booked for next year! Natural Beauty

Can't say enough good things about the wonderful vacation we had at Chaudiere Lodge. The peace and quiet, being surrounding by Nature, the phenomenal food and the very friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure that every family member had truly amazing memories! Connor and Shannon - you Rock!! The grounds are clean and well-maintained and people say that the fishing is excellent. Please be aware that this Lodge is on an island, 15 mins from the mainland. There are no stores around. WiFi and phone service are spotty. This is a vacation for those who are looking to de-stress and enjoy the natural world (and for those who like to fish). There is both delightful and really awesome wildlife to appreciate, especially if you go with Pete on a tour of the French River! The cabins are rustic with few amenities, so be sure to bring personal items you may need. While there are fans, there is no A/C. However, even during extremely hot days, we didn't miss it due to the cooling shade from the trees. The chef, Dave, went to incredible lengths to ensure our very picky young grandson had the meals that he was willing to eat! Other dietary restrictions were easily accommodated as well. Meal sizes are very generous so you won't be hungry, but if there is some snack you might crave, again, be sure to bring it with you. We will miss the clean air, the serenity, the delicious meals and the smiles and laughter with the staff and other guests. Great vacation! Thank you! An amazing experience

This place is amazing. Very nice people. An amazing and extraordinary experience. Very nice place for fishing small and large mouth bass, pike, wallay, etc. ,I am definitely going back. We were there for 4 days and enjoyed it a lot. We got the fishing tour with Peter for half a day and caught 20 fish in 4 hours. This place is amazing. Very nice people.
