Bad service and racism

Service was bad, staff not friendly at all, it was as if they are doing us a favour, found coackroaches in our food and staff and management could not care, service was just bad from reception to management, guest were not served the same food at breakfast, other people had buffet whilst we were given an al carte menu.We couldn't use and or access any of the offered activities, everything when it comes to us was on maintenance. We were marginalised, not given any form of respect, it was a kind of "a take it or leave it" type of a situation. Serene, a wonderful getaway!

We stayed in an inter leading unit, so two bedrooms with inter leading door. We were 2 adults with our 2 teenage children. Each bedroom had a massive seating room, gas fireplace, bar fridge, TV, dressing area and each it's own bathroom with shower. We loved the space but the rooms needed some attention. Only the one gas fireplace worked and it stopped working on our third night. We stayed three nights. It was very very cold. No air-conditioner. We received 2 tiny oil heaters but they were not enough for such an area. Only the one bed had a working electric blanket. The twin beds had none but at least it was the room with the working fireplace. The bathrooms were super cold and adjusting the hot/cold of the water for the shower was a mission. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. We had the most beautiful lake and mountain views. It was serene and peaceful. If it weren't so cold we would have enjoyed it more. There were activities for the kids, such as horse riding, archery, a petting zoo (very popular), mini golf, a bar with darts and pool table, seating areas, a library, boardgames, patio, pool with beach chairs, all in the main area of the hotel. Only WiFi in the restaurant. Food was good although the breakfast buffet could be improved. Overall it was very good and we will definitely be back...just maybe not in winter! Kloppenheim a massive disappointment

Estate is run down, food is terrible - dinner & breakfast, short staffed, management don't really care when you give them feedback, Lakeside suites have gas fireplaces instead of real fireplaces, linen does not fit the bed, no room service, price is very high for what you get - which is not much. I would not recommend Kloppenheim. UNHAPPY STAY - NOT VALUE FOR MONEY, DISSAPOINTED IN A SPECIAL OCCASION

POOR - see coments already made regarding Receptions, Rooms, Waiters, Food&Beverage Manager, Ambiance in dining room. We are REALLY dissatisfied with the weekend and money spend after a VERY bad road to the resort. Shocked

Shocking reception when trying to check in. The booking could not be found despite the Booking.com reference being supplied. No assistance from management who kept walking past. No communication from the check in agents which just added to the frustration. Eventually the booking was found. I was shocked to discover that the steps, windowsills and pathways at the entrance to the hotel rooms were dirty, dusty and in some areas covered in animal excrement . When querying it with the duty manager we were told that the passages are cleaned weekly. Surely during a long weekend this would be done daily??
