Great time with family
We had a great time enjoying pools and activities throughout resort. Sadly group programmed activities are no longer available. The unit we got was very small for family of 4 but we spend most of time outdoors anyway. We had a great time enjoying pools and activities throughout resort. Loud bathroom fan, not ADA accessible
Doors not accessible. The fan in the bathroom came on with the light and was super loud!!! There is also a creepy hallway linking your room to someone else’s. It’s great if you have both rooms, but WEIRD if you only have one room. Doors not accessible. The fan in the bathroom came on with the light and was super loud!!! Been to better and been to worse
One bedroom unit was decent - nice jet tub. Unit ok but could be better maintained. Very large resort and my guess is they are understaffed. The staff did respond well to requests for items that should have been there already like paper towels and dishcloths. Internet was out all week. They kept saying they were working on it after initially denying that it was out. I asked for refund of activity fee ($30 for the week) and they obliged but not apologetic. Its a decent place, decent pool and hot tub. Was a little dated and not as top line as other top rated resorts. One bedroom unit was decent - nice jet tub. Unit ok but could be better maintained. What IS that SMELL?
We stayed November 24 to November 27, 2021 in building 21, room 21311 A and C. First, the good points. The units were a nice size with nice big tiled bathrooms but no lotion or body wash. Both were supposed to have full kitchens but only one actually did. There was a hotplate in unit C instead of a range. We didn't do any cooking but there were plenty of plates, glasses, bowls and silverware. I can't comment on the pots and pans because we didn't use any and didn't look for them. Both units had full-size refrigerators, coffee makers (no coffee but there were filters), dishwashers with detergent and a washer/dryer with detergent. The resort is easy to get to with a traffic light at the main road so getting in and out was a breeze. Parking was not an issue with plenty of spots. There is no restaurant onsite so you will be going in and out quite a bit unless you cook your meals in your unit. The location is great for visiting the Disney parks. Plenty of restaurants around and Walmart is not too far. The elevators seemed to function well. Door locks worked fine. Both units had a small screened balcony overlooking the parking lot. Not great but at least it was something. Our daughter left her iPad in the unit and discovered it at the airport. It was too late to run back to get it so we called Vacation Village and asked them to look for it. They found it and held it at the front desk. I sent them a UPS shipping label and we got the iPad back a little over a week later. I did have to pay for shipping and pay for UPS to pick it up. At least we got it back. Much appreciated. In spite of this being a timeshare property we weren't pestered about attending a presentation. That's a huge plus. Now, the not so good points. The pool towels were thin; almost like oversized dish rags. Not plush at all. The lounge chairs were scroungy. Gross. Our daughter was creeped out by all the ants around the pool and a yellow jacket attached itself to my toe. The floors in our units were filthy. Our daughter's feet were black from walking barefoot on them. The curtains on the balcony door was dirty. The phone in unit A didn't work and there were no phones in the bedrooms. We did not see a single member of housekeeping the entire time we were there. We didn't want our room cleaned but it seemed odd that they weren't there. We did see what appeared to be maintenance staff outside but not inside. Perhaps the maintenance people are the ones who left their tools we found on the washer in unit C. Hard to say. That brings us to the absolute worst part of the stay. The smell. It's indescribable but I'll try. It seems to be a mixture of some kind of cleaning agent, rotten fried fish, months-old mop water, vomit and maybe some curry. It's overwhelming! We literally had to hold our noses and run from our rooms to the elevator to keep from puking. I checked Tripadvisor and there are other reviews from October that mention the smell so it's been there for some time. Those reviewers couldn't pinpoint the smell either. We asked a few other guests if they had figured out what it was and no one could. Luckily, most of the odor seems to be concentrated in the hallway. It's not bad in the rooms but you can smell it in the elevator and on the first floor. There is a hint of it out by the pool, as well. We went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. We didn't get his name. We told him about the smell and he said he would sent housekeeping up to check it out. We asked him to come up and experience it for himself and he refused. He's the manager. He did offer to move us to another room but we declined because the smell is all over. Moving to another room likely wouldn't have helped. He finally said he would send the housekeeping supervisor up to check it out. We never saw them. If you feel lucky and have a strong stomach, go ahead and stay here. If not, keep looking. Maybe the other buildings don't have that nauseating smell? We stayed November 24 to November 27, 2021 in building 21, room 21311 A and C. First, the good points. Great Location
Resort has nice rooms and is located a short drive from Disney. Staff was helpful and the buildings surround the pool. They have a shuttle to and from Disney but with limited pickup and return times. This is the fourth time we have stayed at this resort and have enjoyed ourselves every time. Resort has nice rooms and is located a short drive from Disney.
