GREAT RESORT WITH NO SERVICE
resort for 500 _ guests, but only about 20 last week of cool may. then season opens from june 1. zero room service- linen , rubbish, cleaning , no power points for computer and no room internet, only at reception. management would not discuss issues or respond to email./ would be VERY noisy in season , so probably best suited to Italians. 3 pools . 2 tennis courts, stage, great gardens , in the middle of no-where though . smallish beach nearby resort for 500 _ guests, but only about 20 last week of cool may. then season opens from june 1. zero room service- linen , rubbish, cleaning , no power points for computer and no room internet, only at reception. management would not discuss issues or respond to email./ would be VERY noisy in season , so probably best suited to Italians. 3 pools . 2 tennis courts, stage, great gardens , in the middle of no-where though . smallish beach nearby

Beware of fees
The week of September 3, 2016 we arrived late and our room was nice and clean for 6 adults but only one bathroom with a shower and a 1/2 bath in master. English is lacking and we paid $31.00 for nothing. We knew there was a private beach, but there is a charge for a chair and umbrella. Otranto a city near by was good for dinner and drinks. We wanted to see the eastern side of Italy and this was a good anchor spot for us to do our day trips. Do not drink the water from the tap as 4 of us got sick and we believe it to have been the tap water. Highly recommended for the area
Our room had a great view over the pool area. Well equipped home from home. The only negatives were a compulsory Euro 60 levy for services from a team of youngsters which we neither needed nor used. The second negative was that the resort was unable to either iron three shirts or simply allowed me to use an iron to iron myself. Had to travel to the next town. We enjoyed good weather. Quite good but room for improvement
We came here on a family holiday, the apartment was advertised as sleeping up to 6 so we assumed there would be four beds and some put me ups in case there were extra kids but in fact there was one double bedroom and some bunk beds. Me and my sister (24 and 21 years old) laughed it off but this could be a little better advertised! The hotel is around 2 miles out of Torre Del Orso and the land train to the beach only goes in the day so you would be stuck without a car in the evenings, particularly considering we were told the hotel restaurant was fully booked every night. We were also told there are no taxis in the area. It would be worth considering offering a land train into the town in the evening. This may be standard for Italy, but charging extra to use the pool facilities and charging an extortionate amount to rent a sun bed in the hotel's section on the beach seems a little unfair. Saying this, the pool area is very good and there are plenty of sunbeds available. Again, this might be a cultural misunderstanding but the loud music and reps trying to get you involved in weird activities mid-afternoon can be a little grating, unfortunately I'm not sure this is a misunderstanding, as the pool area tended to clear of people pretty quickly after this occurred! You have to try Vesuvio 3 pizzeria around the corner from the hotel as well as the sandwiches freshly made in the nearby shop. I'd also recommend Otranto as a place to visit. Overall, a nice-ish hotel (clean and safe), fine as a base to explore the area (providing you have a car available) but not a hotel to spend every waking hour of your holiday in.
