Nice comfortable resort

The condo is dated but big and comfortable. We had a lake view which was great. Lots of steps and doors to go through. Party area, noisy on Friday and Saturday night.The emporium next door had a fantastic lake side patio. The canoe and pedal boat are not user friendly. They are elevated on a lift that is surrounded by a weedy lake. I wanted to use but did not feel safe to get them in the water. It was very unappealing. The dock is very shaky. The pedal boat was full of water. No shore, just immediately deep weedy lake. The lake is however beautiful to look at if you ignore the shore. The condo is dated but big and comfortable. Heaven for Boat Owners

Only two of the 4 buildings of this resort are on the water. The entrance to those buildings are on the second floor. Since there are no elevators, you might have to walk up or down a flight of stairs. Our condo had a large deck looking of the lovely lake and boat docks. The kitchen was well equipped and all appliances were older, but worked fine. The beds were comfy; the living room furniture less so. Landscaping needed work, and a few flower pots would spruce things up. The indoor swimming pool is very old and decrepit but clean. West Oaks is right next door to The Emporium with a restaurant which has outdoor seating. Many other restaurants are within walking distance. The Amusement Park was closed for the season; it would be fun to visit another time when not worried about Covid. Many other parks and attractions are offered, but we only visited the Abbie Gardner Cabin. We would stay here again, but not on the first floor. Satisfactory but not elegant

While there were no serious problems =with this property, we were simply underwhelmed by its overall quality. We usually travel with Wyndham and were accustomed to higher quality of decoration, furnishings, and organization. This property needs some tender, loving refurbishment including paving parking areas and painting/staining outside areas. Enjoyable relaxing resort

This is a very large two bedroom resort. No, it is not brand new but we wanted to get away. Arnold Park is busy in the summer. We went off season but still managed to enjoy our stay. There are hiking trails in the adjacent towns that are in excellent condition. I would comment that watching the lake defrost was very interesting. This is a very large two bedroom resort. Wonderful for Off Season R&R

We were the only unit occupied in the building of 8 units, so it was wonderful for our R&R. Many of the attractions (not the Arnold's Park Amusement Park) were open several days during our stay - the museums were quite interesting. We dined at some fantastic restaurants. Never saw any staff on the grounds even though there is a lot of clean up that should be done after the winter snow and low occupancy.
