You are bettor off staying at South Padre Island. The resort location is dangerous due to Mexico, The Fort Brown area is a disappointment as far as the History of the area and the room furniture is old and needs to be replaced. This place is a dump

The owner is a complete B!#@$. When you ask her a question she looks at you like you have 4 heads. The rooms stink. there is dirty ceilings from water damage. The furniture was broken. Cockroaches coming from under the refrigerator. Mold in the shower with no water pressure. Literally everything was run down. Looked like nothing had been updated since the 70s. The swimming pool was closed when we were there. Said the city had shut it down. When we asked if we could exchange towels they said it was one for one. Okay no problem but they gave us hand towels in exchange for regular towels. tried to say we did that. The owner parks her car right in the way of getting to the parking lot. As soon as you pull into the parking lot it looks like you are pulling into the projects. I heard some people live there full time and pay 700 a month total for their apartment. That includes utilities. So there is tons of broken blinds in the windows. The place is dirty. We left early. So gross. The owner is a complete B!#@$. Friendly, clean and safe!

Fort Brown is an older resort. While it is not upscale or modern, it was clean and secure. Rosie and her staff are very kind and helpful. The area is beautiful. We had never been that far down into Texas. Very close to all shopping needs and other attraction areas. We found the historical element and added plus. Fort Brown is an older resort. While it is not upscale or modern, it was clean and secure. Rosie and her staff are very kind and helpful. The area is beautiful. We had never been that far down into Texas. Do not stay there

The unit is outdated, bathrooms have leaks and tubs clog. The pull out sofa is uncomfortable and the linen for it was hard and felt like sand paper. Office is only open from 9 am - 5 pm. Enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful time at Fort Brown Condo Shares. I was a little nervous about our trip due to some of the reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised with our room and the service. The room did smell a little musty, which I assume is due to the humid climate, but it was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having 2 TVs, so that my husband and I didn’t have to watch cartoons with the kids the whole time. We also put the kitchen to good use and we were able to make a lot of our own meals. The pool was well maintained and the view of the lake from our room was beautiful. The area was quiet and yet close to stores/restaurants/gas stations. They delivered fresh towels, toilet paper, paper towels, to our room each day as needed. They did explain that they wouldn’t enter our room if we weren’t there, and that if we missed them we could get fresh supplies from the office instead. We were there for a family vacation and enjoyed driving to Port Isabel and South Padre Island each day. It does take about 45 minutes to get to the beach, which was fine for us, since we weren’t on a schedule and the drive was beautiful. Thank you for a great week!
