Good location, nice staff, but a bit old
Location is good! Just few step to bar and restaurant area. 5-10 mins by walk to river khong side. Staff are really nice and helpful. The room size is average and necessary amentities are provide including TV. Breakfast is good. But air condition is seem like never cleaned! I have to open and clean it myself so it get cooler. Hotel a bit old but functional. Location is good! Just few step to bar and restaurant area. 5-10 mins by walk to river khong side. Staff are really nice and helpful. Dated rooms, but very good for under 300 RMB
The rooms were probably lovely when they were originally renovated but are now looking a bit tired and dated, however that was reflected in the price we paid online of 260 RMB. The first room we were offered was quite tatty (damp on the walls, stained carpet etc) but when asked we were moved to a better room, although the bathroom in that room had also seen better days (cracked but repaired sink, mould around the edge of the shower). The powerful and warm rain shower was superb though, and the beds very clean and comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly and seemed to speak reasonable English. There were some nice touches too - for example fruit delivered to our room on the first evening, and a Spring Festival welcome gift of tea leaves on arrival. The cleaning staff were really noisy in the mornings though, shouting in the corridor about 8am and leaving a walkie-talkie on full volume right outside our bedroom door. There was also dirty laundry piled up in the corridors every day, which just made the place look like a mess. There is a shallow swimming pool here (too shallow to swim in) with a few sunbeds but which is all mostly in the shade. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while though so we decided against going in - I wouldn’t choose this place based on the pool. Breakfast was quite varied (the usual Chinese fare plus fried eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, cereals and bread with butter and jam) but unspectacular. The fruit juice was all gone by 9am, but there was some decent filter coffee. Although the address is correct, the hotel can be a little tricky to spot because the name above the door is only in Chinese - look out for 瑞纳国际会员酒店 written in orange characters, and take the phone number (0691-2168888) with you to give to a taxi driver if you can’t find it.
