Mediocre

Let me start out with the most positive part of my review… The timeshare is a five minute walk to two wonderful beaches! Otherwise… Too close to roadway and would hear cars and motorcycles going by even with windows/doors closed. Roosters crowing all day and night (and I always thought roosters only crowd at sunrise ). House next door to property partying till the wee hours of the morning. Furniture is very dated. For some reason there was no midweek cleaning service (my guess is because of COVID-19 but other Timeshares I have stayed in did not skip midweek service during pandemic). Great location but the bugs win

Gardens at West Maui is in a very nice location across the street from Napili Beach and coastal trails. The pool area was clean and quiet and the one bedroom with two baths is quite large. The units and building are very old and worn, though the kitchen had been remodeled. The main problem here are the bugs. Our unit had an ant and roach problem. We own a home in Hawaii and understand there can be bugs. We have our house sprayed regularly to prevent problems. After breakfast we left a closed package of muffins on the counter for two hours. When we returned the counter was covered with tiny black ants. I had to spray the counter where we prepare food with bug spray. Later that night we did laundry. When I put the clean laundry in the dryer there were roaches inside. This is not normal and means there is a bigger problem. We were able to move units but in the same building. The new unit had ants coming out of the entry doorway and inside. As management had already left for the night, we decided to check out after only one night and moved to a hotel that had no bugs. Excellent resort with friendly staff.

We stayed at the Gardens at West Maui for 11 nights. While the resort is not located on the beach, you have easy access to two beaches including the famous Kapalua beach. The apartment we had was spacious and fully equipped, and the resort had probably the nicest pool I have seen anywhere. The staff were super helpful when we reached out to them, but it should be noted that the front desk is only manned part time, otherwise you have to reach out to the main hotel, the Sands of Kahana. My only complaint is the complimentary club house for guests (at the main resort), made available on check out if their flights are late in the day. This place is nothing more than a sparsely equipped room (4 foldable chairs and a table), no A/C and nowhere to securely store your stuff. It did have showers and a bathroom, but we quickly left, instead opting to do more touring before our flight. We stayed at the Gardens at West Maui for 11 nights. Excellent beach location

Outstanding location, short walk to two of the best beaches in Hawaii. Well laid out units with all the amenities. The landscaping by the pool area is why this is the Gardens at West Maui, it is wonderful. The pool area is near the rear of the property and is usually quite since everyone is on the beach. The parking is off road and I have never had problems finding a spot. This is a smaller resort so social distancing is possible and we have always found it clean and welcoming. Not impressed

We stayed at The Gardens at West Maui recently. The employee who checked us in was not friendly at seemed annoyed that we were there. Our unit was not ready after 4 PM and she did change us to another unit that overlooked the parking lot and someone's back yard. The unit was spacious and had a washer/dryer but the dishwasher was broken and the carpet needed cleaning. Location was good. Nice beaches nearby. I would not stay here again, however.
