Happy We Tried Boardwalk Villas!
First off, I would like to thank the front desk team for their help. Our in room washer and dryer ruined something of sentimental value to us. Front desk worked really hard to try to find a replacement. When that was not able to be found, they found us something very cute. Thank you!!! Ok. Yes, the rooms could stand a refresh. That should NOT prevent you from booking a vacation at Boardwalk! The rooms are still pretty fantastic! If you are a Food and Wine fan, Boardwalk is a must do!!!!! It could not be any easier to just stroll from the hotel into the back of Epcot. Zero and I mean zero stress getting to and from Epcot. Hollywood Studios too. But being able to just stroll home from Epcot is priceless. It is also nice being so close to the Skyliner. Jumped on that and dinner at the top of Riviera. No need for an Uber for an awesome dinner. We were told the breakfast is great there too. Pretty cool to also sit on the Boardwalk and watch fireworks. See photo. All cast members were nice. Everything was clean. Pool and waterside were fun. Happy with our stay and thanks again! First off, I would like to thank the front desk team for their help. Our in room washer and dryer ruined something of sentimental value to us. Peaceful Garden View
I liked everything about it. The room (villa) I stayed in fit 5 people, it had its own kitchen, regular bathroom & closet. The balcony was tight w/2 chairs facing the garden and lake, it felt very peaceful which is much appreciated after being surrounded by heavy crowds. Both pools temperature is perfect though it rained hard and I expected it cooler. The pool-slide is fun & their side bar is awesome. The staff was friendly and am grateful to their suggestions. The only thing that actually ‘threw me off’ was that this resort as beautiful and pricey as it is doesn’t come with room-service. Housekeeping if you request it during COVID time, however, if you get hungry you have to get up and go get it. There’s no food delivery and that for me is important specially when it’s raining. There’s many places to eat on the Boardwalk but if you’d like to stay in & order, you can’t. The store downstairs is only open 1/2 day so if you see something you like, buy it on the spot (they could have made a killing w/people buying ponchos if it had been open, ha-ha). Surrounded with constant entertainment is a plus. The boat ride is just feet away and Disney’s new Skyliner is located nearby as well. Most importantly everything was sanitized. Overall, I give this place 4****. I liked everything about it. The room (villa) I stayed in fit 5 people, it had its own kitchen, regular bathroom & closet. Phenomenal Stay…
Stayed at the grand villa for one week. Everything exceeded my expectations. The Disney magic is real and the staff here show it. From the Mickey hand greeters in the morning, to Laura at the front desk- then AJ with bell services. Also- the extremely helpful Kirk and Marlene. They truly go above and beyond. I have nothing negative to say. Nothing…at all. The grand villa offers more than plenty space for everyone. Views are primo with the boardwalk and full kitchen comes in extremely handy. Loved the washer/dryer room. It was really something special to return back to such a beautiful room after a long day of Disney. You can walk from the resort to Epcot and Hollywood studios. Boardwalk holds a special place in my heart and it will for you too. Stayed at the grand villa for one week. Everything exceeded my expectations. The Disney magic is real and the staff here show it. Does not live up to hype.
Seems to be a bit of a gamble room and experience wise. I have read rave reviews online and heard in person from others who have stayed here and was very excited to have a chance to stay. I transferred from one amazing resort (Saratoga) to this one half-way through my trip. The location, so close to Epcot, and the Skyliner is amazing and a plus. Boardwalk area and access an interesting theme. Boats a nice touch. BUT... the room (studio, 2050) is oddly shaped (corner, wedge shaped), has limited fan control, a well outdated thermostat, and a scenic view of a dusty utility access when laying in bed. It has bizarrely placed lighting, and really limited storage if you were to actually have 5 people staying. View wise it has a view of nothing when seated (solid wall) and and a poor view when standing (pool). I should note I love to sit on a patio in AM and have my coffee, watch birds, look at flowers and green spaces. Essentially this patio is an overheated box with no hope of a breeze and was zero joy to spend any time on. I've never had to request 3 things fixed/attended to in any hotel I have ever stayed at, let alone any 'premium' accomodation. They were promptly fixed upon request. Worth noting however as these were *obvious* malfunctioning and broken items. It is definitely a 'well used room'. Was not offered bell service when my bags arrived via resort transfer. The cast member doing repairs and the housekeeping cast member who helped me with my room access have proved far more pleasant to speak with than (most) of the Front of House/Desk cast members I have interacted with. Took multiple attempts to fulfill a basic request for a basic item. This turned out to be rather funny in the end but was bizarre none the less. They very obviously replaced the shower curtain (heavy plastic of some sort) JUST before I arrived and the off-gassing the first few days was frankly nauseating. Imagine a lovely hot shower at end of a long day where you cannot smell the shampoo or soap, just toxic plastic. Lovely. Unfortunately there was no remedy to this, which to their credit they were apologetic about. Experience does not live up to the hype at all. Cumulative effect of all the above is rather disappointing. Seems to be a bit of a gamble room and experience wise. So much more than expected
I’ve always heard mixed feedback about BoardWalk over the years, so I wasn’t sure what to expect of the property going into my trip. I love the BoardWalk area (so much that I own DVC at Beach Club), but never tried the resort itself. Throughout my stay, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed my stay at the Villas and would honestly stay again in a heartbeat. To start, one of the managers at BWV, Rafael, was great and displayed the exact kind of customer service you would expect from a Disney resort. I was having some issues earlier in my trip (not even relating to BoardWalk, but at Copper Creek and Magic Kingdom) that weren’t getting addressed at their respective locations. Because of the ongoing issues, I wasn’t in the best mood when I checked in and received the guest survey, and vented my frustrations in the survey. In less than an hour, I received a call on my cell phone from Rafael, who patiently listened to my concerns and was determined to make things right. Rafael made me feel heard and reminded me of why I’ve chosen Disney resorts so often over the years, when earlier in the trip had me questioning it. My BoardWalk view room had a stunning view—right across the water from Yacht & Beach, with Spaceship Earth not too far away. Walking into the room and immediately seeing that view through the balcony door was priceless. The room was plenty spacious and featured a queen bed, pull-out sofa, and a single bed below the TV. The room decor was a bit on the older side but was all in decent shape. Both the sleeping area and the bathroom felt very comfortable and I could easily imagine staying there for a longer trip. Something about the room felt very familiar (in a good way), making me think back to Disney resort rooms I stayed in growing up. Part of what gives the resort such a special charm is the little details throughout. The dozens of times I have walked along the resort’s border, I never would’ve known how cute the guest room corridors were with their seating areas, scattered windows overlooking the pool, and open atrium areas in some sections. Staying at BWV gave me a whole new appreciation for the resort and I would definitely stay here again.
