Convenient location/horrible room

The location is convenient, and the view from the living room overlooking the harbor is lovely. Other than that, this Wyndham resort fell way short of what we have enjoyed at time shares in the past. Biggest issue: the outdated AC unit in the LR doesn’t cool the bedroom There’s a tiny vent near the bedroom coming blocked by a closet that seems to be connected to an ancient-looking button marked “fan” that I assume is meant to pull the AC into the bedroom. It doesn’t. There isn’t any working vent at all in the bathroom. The bathroom “amenities” were all different brands, making it appear as though they are using leftover items. The bottle of mouthwash wasn’t sealed. Ugh. We were missing pillow cases for 2 pillows and there was no duvet cover for the sofa bed. There was a hole in the bathroom wall covered by a paint patch that was creepy, to say the least. The bed was 2 feet smaller than the headboard, and not a king as described. Long Wharf Inn

All units overlook marina, very nice. Problem is, its right next to fishing boats and the outdoor area has a rather "sweet" smell if you know what I mean. Unit 356 had a horrible odor the entire time we were there. It smelled like dirty feet from the minute we walked in. Really ruined our time there. Otherwise unit seemed to be recently remodeled with new furniture, carpeting, tile. All units overlook marina, very nice. Nice location

The Wyndham Inn on Long Wharf is a redecorated hotel. I stayed in a one bedroom unit with a nice bedroom, bathroom, and partial kitchen. Galley kitchen is nice and has everything other than an oven. Nice TV and living room with a 4 chair dining table. No balcony, but ceiling to floor windows overlooking the harbor. Great location to walk anywhere downtown. Dozens of restaurants and shops. Newport Vacation

The Inn on Long Wharf is the best place for the money to stay in Newport. The rooms are great and the view of the harbor is outstanding! You can walk from the INN to most places in downtown Newport. The front desk staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to assist and make sure you have a great stay. We have stayed at the INN over the past 12 years, sometimes twice a year. We highly recommend it and will return. You cannot go wrong by staying here! The Inn on Long Wharf is the best place for the money to stay in Newport. The rooms are great and the view of the harbor is outstanding! You can walk from the INN to most places in downtown Newport. The front desk staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to assist and make sure you have a great stay. We have stayed at the INN over the past 12 years, sometimes twice a year. We highly recommend it and will return. You cannot go wrong by staying here!

Updated unit at Wyndham Inn with Harbor Views

THE ROOM: The room I had (on the 5th floor) was updated and felt 'fresh' upon arrival. Our one bedroom had a small partial kitchen (full fridge, coffee maker, two burners and microwave - no stove). Other than breakfast, we ate out for our other meals and it worked out perfectly for us. If you are planning on having dinner in the unit, or making elaborate meals, it will probably be a little small for you and your family. THE HOTEL: The hotel was within easy walking distance to downtown/restaurants . I even walked to the Marble House and back one day (although THAT day might be too much walking for most people.) Staff was lovely. Some things closed due to Covid (Roof deck for example). Parking was easy but my visit was in April - so this might be different during summer months when the town is busier. OVERALL: Some of the mansions were closed due to Covid (they had only two open when we were there). The Cliff Walk was beautiful. Plenty of restaurants. Everyone wearing masks on the street and in public places. Beautiful views and easy walks around town. Some stores were shuttered for the season. The only "complaint" is that we had a 4 pm check-in but they were short staffed and I couldn't check-in until 5 pm. While this was inconvenient, it wasn't significant - and we walked around town, got a coffee while waiting. Staff was lovely the entire stay.
