Far from Charleston

This location was represented as being Charleston to me, I chose this place to visit historic Charleston. It was 1.5 hour drive each way to Charleston. This is a great place for a beach vacation, that is not what I was after in November. This location was represented as being Charleston to me, I chose this place to visit historic Charleston. Club Wyndham Ocean Ridge is an Excellent place to stay

First of all Edisto Island is a beautiful place. This was my first time here and I lived it. The Ocean Ridge complex was very nice. We stayed in the Fairway Villas and they were walking distance to the Activity Center and Pool. They offered a really nice day trip to Charleston which was reasonably priced and very enjoyable. I really liked that they used texting as a way to ask questions and communicate and they were always very responsive. The unit was very clean and comfortable and the beds were great. We had a beautiful view over the golf course. I'd highly recommend staying here! First of all Edisto Island is a beautiful place. This was my first time here and I lived it. this is a great property and very family-friendly. The rooms are very accommodating, clean with plenty of linens, cooking utensils and dishware. The staff overall are friendly but we did run into a couple of situations where that was not the case. Overall though I would give this resort a good rating. About visiting Edisto - bring your own groceries! There’s only one grocery store in town and they obviously have a difficult time keeping stocked up. this is a great property and very family-friendly. Great place to stay - if you are lucky enough to get a good condo.

It would be nice if you could select your condo when you booked. We got lucky and received a nice location, however, we could have been given a unit next to the dumpster on the swamp. Also, stop trying to sell us a timeshare - WE ARE NOT INTERESTED AND IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND OURS. It would be nice if you could select your condo when you booked. Terrific location in a laid back beach town

We had a wonderful time during our stay in Edisto Beach. We were at the Wyndham for a week. They advertise 'enhanced cleaning' due to Covid, but we didn't have average cleaning in our unit prior to check in. The kitchen sink had dried food in it and the refrigerator had a large puddle of a mystery liquid on the bottom shelf. There was also a dirty pitcher in the refrigerator. The bathroom was not clean and there were large cracks and water damage in the ceiling. The tub barely drained. We had one dead roach but the worst was during our last night. We had turned off the lights in the bedroom when I felt a bug crawl across my wrist. It was about a 2 inch roach. I trapped it in the blanket and we killed it, but ugh....I travel with cleaning supplies because of Covid, so we cleaned before we unpacked. But that wasn't the best start or end for our trip. All of that being said...the one bedroom unit in Marsh Point was spacious and had a screened porch with chairs and a table. The kitchen was equipped for basic cooking and there were ample towels for the kitchen and bathroom. We loved sitting on the porch with a glass of wine in the evening and enjoyed the peace. We rented bikes and rode every day. There are great bike trails all over the island. The Water's Edge Cafe is where you rent the bikes on the Wyndham property. Its posted hours are 7 am-9 pm. That is not accurate. They are open 9am-5pm, roughly. Many of the restaurants keep odd hours that don't match the information given out by the Wyndham. For that matter, the hours don't match what is on the restaurants' websites, either. So, call before you go to any restaurants.. The only places open past 7pm were Coot's, LaRetta's, and Whaley's. We assume that some of the cleaning issues and hour inaccuracies have to do with personnel shortages. Especially since every Wyndham employee we encountered was new. But, they should update their printed materials and strive for at least basic cleaning in the units. If you are going to stay at the Wyndham, take cleaning supplies and bug spray.
