Room #218 stay away!

Travelling couple and we are not that picky but I have to tell you this room was terrible. We arrived an hour early and room wasn’t ready said they would call. Had to go to the blue green desk and get parking pass, coupons ect. They tried to get us to attend a Bluegreen timeshare pitch for a free weeks vacation and a 150 gift card, and I refused. Told them I wasn’t interested. At 4 we checked back at the desk and room was ready. Parking in the parking garage was a treat with a Ram 1500 truck. Very low and not much room to maneuver. Room was clean well stocked but the view was not as pictured on RCI’s website. Resort has another resort in front of it as you go to the beach. We were on the 2nd floor room #218 which is still high as there are 4 parking levels below. We were placed on the south side of the building and all the rooms with an unobstructed view are on the north side of the building. We were over the trash dumpster and power lines right outside the patio, a parking garage of the condos in front of us is right at the viewing level, anyone can look into the room from the parking garage level, another resort to the south obstructed the beach view and we had a sliver of beach view between the buildings on the beach. Constant humming noise outside the room on the balcony, from the power lines I believe. I couldn’t help but think due to my refusal of the Bluegreen sales pitch we got a lousy room. Bed is comfy washer and dryer convenient. Bathroom was fine a little small. Cleanliness of the room was poor, floors as stated in many reviews made your socks filthy after a short time, with so many reviews about this you think they could clean the floors. Location of the resort is the best thing about it. Off the main tourist area and convenient to wherever you want to go. A block off the beach and beach was very nice. Not Happy scam fees

The resort it’s self was not that bad it was dated and a couple of blocks from the beach, they charged a $92 RCI points only cleaning fee. This is a scam and I understand if someone stays only a partial week then they need to pay for the resort getting cleaned mid week but we stayed all seven days just like other members. They said it was RCI doing it, we called you lied. RCI needs to drop them. Great location, quality room, needs a little work.

We have stayed at the Horizon for several years now and it is not a bad place to stay. Last time we stayed and this time could have been a lot better if the safe had worked and maintenance had not had to have been called in order to use it. This year, on our last whole day at the resort our electronic key stopped working and I had to walk all the way over to the neighboring motel to get it reactivated. I love staying at the Horizon but it needs a little TLC to make it as good as it used to be. I am thinking about looking elsewhere next time in Myrtle Beach. We have stayed at the Horizon for several years now and it is not a bad place to stay. Beautiful ocean view—started our vacation perfectly!

We booked this condo very last minute for a one night stay. It was a beautiful view of the ocean and we enjoyed our stay there 100%! Would definitely recommend to friends! The price was affordable.
