Worst Hotel I've ever visited

The exterior of the hotel is dirty and unkempt. The interior is what it is, an old school building that has had its classrooms converted into bedrooms The rooms consist of a separate washbasin, toilet and shower which is in the need of considerable renovation. The lounge had a table, two chairs ( one of which the back came apart when lifting the chair). A separate bedroom entered through double sliding doors and a kitchen. The kitchen consisted of a fridge freezer and sink. There was two odd mugs, no kettle, no cooker or microwave, no pots, plates knives forks or spoons. No dishcloth, no tea towel, presumably because there was nothing to wipe, only the too mugs. We had the unfortunate bad luck to stay for one week. We visited Shanghai to visit my son and his Chinese partner who we had never met and wanted to have a two bedroomed apartment but the hotel only had one bedroomed accommodation. We had booked our stay through RCI as we have RCI points due to our timeshare in Spain, so we had expected the hotel to be of good quality. As we were treating my son and partner we had reserved two rooms (these being rooms no 203 &205). One morning my sons partner found a cockroach on one of their room walls. On the last morning our toilet completely blocked therefore we were unable to use it. One of the male receptionists kept clearing his throat rather loudly which was very off putting. Cosy Stay in a quite place

Historical building but almost everything is furnished and clean. A bit far from main attractions but there is a new MRT line about 250 metres away (Line 13). Very helpful and friendly staff. Only major problem is there is no lift to the upper floors. Historical building but almost everything is furnished and clean. In the middle of several highrise building construction sites

I had been advised there was a English speaking front desk and WIFI. There isn't. The ground floor was being renovated with drilling through concrete of and on all day. The construction site concrete trucks across the road went on all night in spite of the 10pm cut off time by chinese law.The coffee shop did not have any fresh food or coffee - machine isn't working". The WIFI didn't work. The IT guy did connect me to their LAN but this was a day after I needed it. Some of the staff did not appear to be happy in their job. The map I was given at the front desk did not show that the road had been blocked off and so taxis could not follow the directions.
