Room for Improvement

Having stayed at the Soco Hotel for 11nights we are a little mixed on what rating to put this hotel. Whilst we were very well looked after by the staff downstairs in the restaurant & bar, the hotel was found lacking in a few areas unfortunately. I will start with the good points :- The food at this hotel was outstanding & the waiting staff were attentive each sitting (Lou-Lou/Chanel/Shane & two other ladies). The bar was great when Shane/Corey/Chrissie were on, they were very helpful and added to the atmosphere which could be a little lacking unfortunately on the evenings. On the bad points :- The bar did on four occasions during our break run out of certain bottles of spirits and white/rose wine which is totally unacceptable, It was unfortunate that the bar staff took the grief from guests for this which was unfair as this is down to Management and Management ONLY. Halfway through our holiday they ran out of clean white towels/hand towels/face cloths, and only supplied us with their blue beach towels. Now we were okay with this as they were clean towels after all, but again this is down to poor Management. Our holiday was by no means ruined by all of the above as we made the most of our time there, and the rooms were cleaned each day & we had a great time with the waiting/bar staff who could not do enough for you. I would not give this hotel the star rating it has, as it does need some attention decorating-wise, and more importantly the management need to be looked at as they are letting things slip which is having a knock on effect their paying guests. Places for you to try :- Blakey's Bar which is a five minute walk down the boardwalk, where you can have nice food and live entertainment. Jake's Restaurant out of the front of hotel, and left up the road which is a great TGI Friday's style restaurant which has great food, service and atmosphere. Our day out on a Catamaran booked with the company Cool Runnings was certainly a fabulous experience with great guys, with lovely hot buffet food and drink served on board, well worth a try. Dirty Faulty Towers

So we are staying here for 21 nights and it’s like Faulty Towers They run out of things all the time. Hot water once a week if lucky, To top it off they changed our bed with dirty linen and when I complained they re made it without a quilt cover. With what’s going on in the world today hygiene should be at the top of their list but sleeping against a dirty quilt that will of been used many times by many travellers is disgusting. So we are staying here for 21 nights and it’s like Faulty Towers They run out of things all the time. All round success

We stayed here for a week this month. Staff couldn't have been nicer from the moment we arrived. Lovely, clean room. Special diet personally catered for. Meals were all 3 courses and beautiful. Simply Wonderful

Just returned - where do I begin..... simply wonderful!! We would 100% return to Barbados and this hotel. The amazing view, food, staff, room, location all perfect. Food was wonderful - three meals a day plus afternoon teas and a Manager’s Cocktail reception. The vegetarian menu was limited but the Executive chef was so accommodating. All in all, a fabulous stay and I can comfortably say I will recommend this to all my friends and family - thank you Soco Hotel. We will be back! Soco Hotel , Barbados , review

We have arrived home from Barbados this week. We stayed in Soco Hotel, Hastings and our experience was very different to many reviewers. The hotel was very clean and our room was a good size overlooking the pool and beach. The restaurant had a open kitchen and there were tables outside and in. The food was table service and was very tasty, the food was served freshly cooked. All the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. If you like a boutique style hotel then this is the one for you, we highly recommend. We have arrived home from Barbados this week.
