Disappointing

For the top-rated hotel in Zacatecas it wasn't very impressive. I wish I had stayed at the Quinta Real. The location by the cathedral is nice but the square is not that impressive. Rooms were average, not particularly luxurious, felt dated but not in a colonial way, linens were frayed, courtyard felt desolate, restaurant like a glorified Sanborn's. All the less pleased as the price was 50% higher due to the holidays. For the top-rated hotel in Zacatecas it wasn't very impressive. I wish I had stayed at the Quinta Real. Great hotel, great location, great value

Best hotel we stayed in on our trip. We had a Junior Suite and loved it. The hotel has a great location, all the staff we engaged with were friendly and professional, the breakfast was good. The room was excellent - with a seating area with its own TV, and lots of space. For the quality and location of the hotel the price is extremely reasonable - highly recommend. Well situated and attractive hotel with a few weird features

Zacatecas is a beautiful town and the Emporio is in prime position opposite the cathedral. Rooms and bathrooms are comfortable. Best to get an outward facing room as the ones overlooking the inner courtyard are long and dark. The hotel does not seem to take credit cards to pre-authorise expenditure during the stay - sp you have to pay as you go. This causes a few problems with stuff like laundry, as you have to be there to greet it and pay when it returns from the lavanderia. A simple room service order necessitated 3 calls from different people to check it. So overall, not as relaxing as it could be. Breakfast v. crowded - but there is a splendid bakery behind the cathedral and several nice coffee shops nearby. Wonderful hotel, comfortable bed, shower is roomy. We booked a junior suite with a view, and loved it! We'll definitely come back. Not as good as advertised

This property should be fantastic. The location is certainly that. But there were several issues when we were there last week. First of all the sink didn't drain well, but they fixed it. Secondly, the view patio only had a view if you stood up and looked over the solid wall - then the view was great. Lastly and most significantly, the advertised air-conditioning didn't work - not just for our room, but for all rooms.
