Great Last Minute Getaway!
We were Very Pleased with our very first week stay getaway! the 1-Bdrm was very spacious. Coffee early in the morning on the balcony was very peaceful and lovely. The entire Unit was Very Clean. The Bed was Very Comfortable! The only 1 draw back was our neighbors talked very LOUD, as if they were standing right at the lockout/adjoining room door! they were friendly but just LOUD! the check in staff was very nice and helpful! especially Jakes!! we had guest to check in later that week and they enjoyed themselves as well! Nice Resort
We enjoyed that the resort and had planned activities. We weren't expecting activities. The condo was comfortable and clean when we arrived. Its close to restaurants and grocery stores. The resort employees were very pleasant. We enjoyed that the resort and had planned activities. We weren't expecting activities. The condo was comfortable and clean when we arrived. We got in at around 10 at night, no one to check us in, we had problems finding our place, couldn’t find anyone to help us out, they have no night security. I would suggest avoiding staying at Springwood apartments, there are year round residents living here, you feel like your staying at at a regular apartment complex. They really don’t help much at the desk. Had a power outage today, lights flicker. RCI people be sure to call in and request anywhere besides Springwood it is a total tip-off! Bed Bugs and Bloody Sheets
We stayed on the north end of the "resort" which was suppose to be the updated side. The rooms smelled like a bug bomb was set off before our stay and we found a bed bug along with bloody sheets in our room. The front desk moved our room and sent our belongings to be heat treated in their bed bug heater. This ruined a whole day of our vacation. The front desk management was less than helpful and told me that they filled their obligations because they moved our room and heat treated our belongings and our lost day, which I paid for was on us. I was referred to the COO at their cooperate headquarters after the front desk refused to work with me and spend a couple days going back and fourth before settling on a refund that was less than what I paid for a whole day. The front desk is only available until 8:30 then they leave for the day. There was mold in first room, dirty flooring in both, appliances which didn't work and our tv went out the last two days we were there. The second room they moved us too smelled worse than the first room and the bug spray was overwhelming. Walls are thin and upstairs kept us up well past midnight the last two days. Per the owner/management response. We were debating on staying at another hotel because of the bed bugs which is why we didn't initially change rooms but did so the same day. As for the exterminator not finding anything he was in the room a total of maybe 10 minutes and checked under a couple beds. When I requested a refund of my damaged goods which was send in a picture including the bed bug and bloody sheet picture I was told I need to provide a receipt and you could check with your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I just returned from a short vacation at the Coral Sands Resort North by Palmera #C688 in Hilton Head, SC at check-in at 6:00 o’clock pm, I was given Unit H-103, lovely unit, spacious with a nice view of the pool area. During the night I discovered that the unit was infested with roaches of all sizes, crawling all in the kitchen over the dishes and appliances. At eight o‘clock the next morning I went to the front desk and spoke with the front desk manager, requested that an exterminator come and spray the unit. She couldn’t give me a time that the exterminator could come and spray, so I went to the store and purchased some ant and roach and starting spraying the unit myself. The exterminator finally showed up at 4:00 o’clock pm and sprayed the unit, spent less than 2 minutes in the unit. But the bugs prevailed, disgusting! The unit was not cleaned very well, food and dead roaches between the cabinets and refrigerator. I spoke with Ann Hmeida, Director of Guest Hospitality, and asked for a full refund of the funds I paid when checking in, $100.00 for cleaning fee and $26.75 for resort fee, she said she was only allowed to refund $64.00 for poor cleaning service, she said they don’t compensate for roaches. Don’t be fooled by the nice pictures in the advertisement and 5 star rating, the place definitely needs improvement in pest control and cleanliness. Disappointed!!
