Not Recommended. Terrible Customer Service

A really disappointing experience. First, I'll start with the positives. Restaurant, Bar and Watersports staff were friendly and approachable. A la carte food was nice. Swimming pools are small but picturesque (although sunbed reserving is rife!). Evening entertainment on Saturday night was good. The disappointment itself came from the resort upkeep, accommodation and the attitude and lack of communication from the customer service staff. First this resort advertises it self as "beachfront". There isn't a beach to speak of, it faces directly onto rocks into the ocean. They do provide steps down into the sea from small "piers". They have made some concrete walkways in front of the sea which they cover with a thin layer of sand - I think that's what they call the "beach". We booked a Superior Ocean View room. When we arrived we were initially placed into a Ocean Loft room (a downgrade). We complained and were moved. No customer service to follow-up. There is no double glazing in these rooms, so all noise you hear is as if it is in the room with you. There were two locks on the bedroom door. Both were broken. The room had a "juliette" style balconette rather than a balcony, so no ability to sit on the balcony in the morning etc. I would expect a proper balcony from a room that has been upgraded several times. Rooms are cleaned every other day, rather than every day which I would expect in a five-star resort. On Saturday night there was no water pressure or hot water for showers. We phoned down to reception and were told that a mains water pipe had burst (apparently it had happened about 1.5 hours earlier that day). No proactive communication from customer service, they were just waiting for people to complain to them. We were told we could use a room in a different block. The room they gave us was mid-refurbishment, had layers of dust on the floor, no shower screen and had not been sanitised. Still no hot water, so we both had cold showers that evening. Again, no follow-up from customer service. Next day, still no water. Again, no communication from customer service. This time the toilets had all stopped working so were now filthy. No "out of order" signs, and no communication advising people of alternatives. No ability to wash hands. After a couple of hours, we checked out. Reception / front of house staff were miserable and uncommunicative. Don't forget (as we did) that for some reason this hotel also charges a $24 per night "resort fee" upon checkout. What on earth that "fee" is for, I have no idea!! There are much nicer hotels on the west coast of Barbados which provide better accommodation and service in this price bracket. Enjoyable stay

We very much enjoyed our 2 week stay. Whilst there are some teething problems, having recently reopened, and lots of new staff, Caroline ( the General Manager who was fantastic) and her management team are working hard to continue improving services offered. Water sports are good as are hotel facilities. It is an easy walk into Holetown and local shops, bars and restaurants. We very much enjoyed our 2 week stay. A disappointing stay on reflection

We visited this hotel 14 years ago when it was the Almond Beach Resort, I am sad to report that the Almond Beach was far in a way better than the The Club !! We were astonished to read reviews that some people considered the food “superb”, it seemed to us to be at best a hit and miss affair laboring between pretty poor quality and average pub food in Britain. Enid’s is the better of the two restaurants to eat in the evenings, we had decent food there but again average pub fair I am sorry to report. The internet connection was to be honest and fair great for at least ten minutes at a time, constantly fading in and out and one having to regularly reboot. The shower pressure is lamentable, except on one day out of ten for us, a strong trickle best describes the shower in our room which was an Ocean Front Suite. Simply don’t bother taking a bath as you will likely have to run the tap for an hour to fill a decent bath. Don’t bother with the TV in your room, within five minutes the screen will turn to 1960’s style fuzzy picture. On the plus side the position is genuinely superb with extraordinary sunsets and actually decent and free water borne activities. The staff are all in all OK some are quite lovely and genuinely good at their jobs, others can be surly and whilst not rude, seemed to be doing you favour being there, I firmly believe this is down to poor training and lackadaisical management. Sorry but we won’t be back here, back to Barbados yes, but not The Club !! Great holiday at The Club!

We've just returned from a fabulous 13 night stay here. Great location on the beautiful west coast, no beach as such but there are steps down to the water for bathing - and super snorkelling, loads of fish activity and we even spotted a turtle. Sandy Lane beach is just a few steps away if you're after a walk along the beach, just need to be careful at high tide if you have mobility issues. Plenty of shops close by, Holetown is walkable and it's easy to get the bus to Speightstown or Bridgetown if you like to explore. As for the hotel itself we were very impressed, the staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We had an issue with our shower and were promptly moved to a new room. The food was amazing, so much choice and all really tasty, if you're out and miss lunch you can also order from the bar menu so you'll never be hungry, oh and the cocktails are dangerously good! Silver wedding holiday

We have had the most amazing Holiday here at The Club,Caroline the manager has gone out of her way to help out with return PCRs and the Staff are lovely,so friendly and helpful too. The meals have been outstandingly high quality and variety was impressive. The drinks options were fabulous,great cocktails,wines,beers and even Prosecco....
