Perfect Stay

This resort is first class and the staff gives great service. From the front desk to the sports bar the staff is professional and attentive. The grounds are very clean and well kept. The rooms in the hotel are clean and the exterior is attractive. All the guests we encountered were friendly and never pushy. The food is excellent and NOT expensive. Cant wait to go back. Never Again!

Here is a very detailed review. The resort is beautiful. The bar tenders are very good in a high volume environment. The DJ on a Friday night in the club, DJ Ian Smith absolutely killed it. AMAZING! We attempted to play in the new Rouge lounge and this guy, "Big Rob" (security team) could not have been more rude to us. We were all joking in the locker room, along with Caliente staff, and before my wife and I entered the play rooms he told us that "we were at a 10 and we needed to bring our energy to an 8!" WHHHAT? This Roadhouse bouncer needs to stick to clubs that entertain trash and NOT this resort. We have been so pleased with service, food, beverage and the appearance of the property but this one dude just destroyed it for us, right before we were about to play. He should have never been placed in the play room. He needs to be at the biker bar in Ybor City. Security is tight (in a good way) but they MUST understand that they are in the customer service business as well. If they fail to understand the integration of security and concierge then they have failed. 400 pound Rob, a man who was "sizing me up" all night long, needs to be replaced and it needs to happen yesterday. We will come back when he is gone. I can not choose words which are any more clear! If not for "Big Rob" Caliente gets 5 stars or MORE from us. Rob was a buzz kill. ***Update*** after posting this review, which only targeted a rude staff member but was otherwise very kind to the resort, and where we gave 4 stars nonetheless, we are being asked to leave the property. If you feel you have a bad experience, just know that they could care less about fixing the issue and will have you thrown off the site. We could care less to be honest, but I've now changed my review to 1 star until the General Manager reaches out to us to fix it. We have NEVER been treated like this before. Dozens of clothing optional locations and LS clubs across the US and this experience, as of this morning, just became a disaster. Visit with caution

I would agree that the grounds are very nice and the weather was great for nude sunbathing, swimming, pickleball, etc. But apparently most people visit here for the sexually themed "lifestyle" activities. Pasco County, where Caliente is located, is a fairly conservative area. I find it hard to believe that openly participating in "the lifestyle", especially the on-premise sexual activity taking place at "Club Rouge" located in the main Club, is legal. I'm leaving one-star because my idea of a good vacation is not getting caught in a police raid and ending up in jail. For swingers ... poor marketing ... do not make a reservation!

Do not make a reservation! The majority of those making reservations are swingers. Do you really want to see condoms floating in the pool? Not what we were expecting and not worth it. Go elsewhere! First time visitors will return

We've been married 35 years and this was the first time we've been to a clothing-optional resort, so we weren't sure what to expect. We enjoyed it very much. All the staff and the other guests were nice and courteous. We felt secure at all times and the security guards even recognized us each time we went through. At first blush, the place was beautiful, but this is not a 5-star resort, so do not expect that. There was maintenance needed, but that didn't bother us too much. Our hotel room seemed to have updated floors and shower, but there was peeling paint. The room was clean, though, so that's what matters most. The lagoon pool was beautiful and the other pools were nice and warm. We aren't lifestyle people, but the Pink Party was energetic and the sports bar was fun. Ida at the pool bar was great, but there were not a lot of choices for accommodating food allergies, and the chefs didn't put too much effort into trying to make the food experience good despite the allergies. My food in the pool bar and the main restaurant was all really good. Our biggest concern was not about us, but another guest. There was a paralyzed man whom we helped get into the pool both days. He wasn't complaining, but he indicated that the lift had been broken for 9 months. That's against ADA and if the authorities discovered that, Caliente would likely be fined significantly.
