Very unprofessional and not worth the stay

This place had a fire two years ago and go week to week obtaining their "extended" permission by the Licensing official of Rockland to operate. Their elevator was taken out of service midway thru our stay, which we were told that this would happen 6 day prior to our stay, too late to cancel. That being said, this appears to be a family run establishment which allows their children and their friends to romp up and down the stairs all hours of day & night. They are playing everywhere and this is very irritating. Also, their WIFI does NOT work and we were dependent on using my Hotspot on the phone to keep in touch with our work.AND the restaurant downstairs also appears to be run by someone which has never been in the restaurant business. The cooks do NOT know how to cook and the wait staff have never served people before, maybe they are also hotel family members, which that appears highly likely. One Saturday morning we walked downstairs to eat breakfast only to find that Santa Claus was there and we were not allowed to eat breakfast, which were in our plans for ease of use. No Staff had even given us the heads up about this, which really made us mad. Upon check-in, we were not made to feel welcomed, they were more concerned with decorating. Nor were the requirements of this Time-share reviewed with us. Not one single vending machine accepted money, which we reported and they just shrugged. ONE ice machine worked, and it was a pretty far walk thru corridors and down the stairs. The room itself appeared to have had an attempt made to renovate. But this was done with extremely cheap fixtures. The lights flicker and go off and on in the bathroom, which we promptly reported, because we were fearful of shoddy work being preformed. This short in the wiring could cause a fire. The counter in the kitchen's laminate had previously had a corner missing so they repaired the corner with Silver Duct Tape. There were old food in the freezer and someone's open water in the fridge part, so cleaning between tenants is questionable. No instructions what is expected at check-out. Timeshares we have stayed in the past ask you to place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher before leaving and turn it on. WE did not do this, because there was not dishwasher detergent supplied and we were NOT going to purchase some just for one use. Two rolls of toilet paper for a two week stay for two people. We were told to go buy some at Walgreens. We decided we had enough and checked out early. Lovely resort

My husband and I travel to Maine in November. We loved the location, friendliness of staff, convenience of having a restaurant onsite and waking up to a bayside view every morning! We would highly recommend Trade Winds if coming to Rockland My husband and I travel to Maine in November. Trade Winds on the Bay

Dirty room, bad odor, filthy bedspread, dirt etc under couch and bed. So much dirt in sliding door runner it was difficult to open it. Had to wash utensils before using them. We bought Bounce dryer sheets to put under and around the bed to combat the odor. Dirty room, bad odor, filthy bedspread, dirt etc under couch and bed. Fall in Rockland Maine

We were very happy with our stay at the Trade Winds. We did not like our first accommodations that had only a view of an alley and back parking lot. But upon compromise on both parts, we spent the majority of the trip in a unit with a balcony and view. Much more pleasant. If you're expecting a "resort" type stay, this is not your place But if you want a very clean unit and super friendly staff that will make your stay fun, then go ahead a reserve a room. We were disappointed in Trade Winds. The location is good and housekeeping was friendly and helpful. The resort is rundown and there were maintenance problems-coffee pot, ice machine,pool.
