Interesting Tahoe Vacation

The rooms are clean and the view of the Tahoe forest is excellent! The Lodge at Kingsbury Crossing said they last renovated in 2003, yet the cook top in our unit #58 was from 1960 or 1970! It only worked on high or very low or off! The dishwasher died in the first couple of days of our stay and had to be replaced, it looked 20 years old as our kitchen faucet also looked 20 years old. The cable went out in our unit for over a day on Halloween. The resort had 2 BBQ's, the left one was flooded with water and the igniters didn't work on either. Older Property, but Clean

Late night check-in was a problem. Facility was very clean but dated. No air conditioning and open windows allowed traffic noise from Kingsbury Grade to wake us early. A bear blocked us from the stairs and elevator one night after hours. No staff on site to assist. No pool but close to Nevada Beach. A mini kitchen with no oven but has microwave. Basic....no frills. Great Visit!

My parents bought 2 timeshare weeks here back in the early 80's when it was new. I took over their weeks in 2011 when they could no longer travel. I usually exchange my weeks because I live in MO. Decided to visit this year. This property is getting old and is evident in the architecture of the buildings. That being said, I was impressed in how well the property is maintained. It is also well mangaged. Unit was very clean and beds were very comfortable. Yes, AC would be nice in July but we made constant use of the fans, opened up at night, closed up during the day and were not uncomfortable. Of course, we were not in the unit much during the day. I gave the property 4 stars because 1) they are still in Covid protocols- masks in lobby, game room, hot tub, lobby lounge still closed, while the rest of Tahoe seemed wide open. We are immunized and don't feel the need for this. 2) While we liked it, I give 5 stars to fancier resorts with roomier accomadations and full kitchens with more amenities. For people who have complained here about "rules" and lack of maid service -- this is a timehshare not a hotel. We simply called the front desk and they were quick to bring fresh towels, more TP, take our trash etc. To simply do your dishes, put towels and linens in the bathtub, and put out trash upon checkout is quite normal for timeshares. The only suggestion I have for our management is to upgrade laundry room. One washer not working and there are only three. Dryers took forever. Need AC

Last time we visited there was a heatwave and we discovered there is no air conditioning in the lodge very uncomfortable. We have been a timeshare owner there for a number of years, nice large, good location. However it appears when you buy the timeshare at Kingsbury there is no way to ever ever get rid of it! Restful retreat at Kingsbury

Well maintained property up in the trees close to ski resort trams and just a few miles to South Lake Tahoe strip. Arrived a week after a vehicle accident needing rest to heal my ribs and leg. The beauty of the snow covered trees from our end unit windows was precisely what my soul required. Tons of snow and regular snow plows throughout the day kept the roads moderately clear. The road in can be icy in winter and moderately steep grades (so bring chains in winter to be safe). I couldn't have been more pleased. The service was professional, especially one friendly host at front desk. Would be nice to have upgrade to BBQ area... Otherwise, cool spot.
