Family Vacation
This resort is AWESOME! My family always has such a great time here. The guys at the Joy Squad: Edgar, Alexis, Damen, and the rest are SO much fun. They have some exciting activities every day and made our vacation great! We look forward to seeing you again next year!! This resort is AWESOME! My family always has such a great time here. Activities Center - Great Experience!
Edgar and all of the staff at the Activities Center were wonderful. They were very helpful, nice and very entertaining. They made our vacation so much fun with the following activities; Blackjack, Pickleball, Pool, Cocktail class, Karaoke, Disco night. Too Early to Return to Mayan Palace, Puerto Penesco
The main road to Mayan Palace is again full of jaw dropping holes. While it is not their road, it makes the trip there and back a horrible experience. The facility is not back yet, the main restaurant is not open and by looks will not be anytime soon. all meals are available at the 2 snack bars. No food coupons so everything is expensive $20 for breakfast and up each as an example. The check in experience is back to pressuring you to go to the time share presentation. They took away our good room because we said no to the timeshare sellers. We complained to the front desk, the sales person and the front desk person went behind closed doors and finally came out and gave us not the room we were promised but another one nearby overlooking the Sea so that was fine. I asked the sales woman if she was taking away our room because we did not go to the presentation and she said YES! And there were so few people there, everyone should have had a grand room overlooking the water so the experience would be one they would not forget and want to return. The stuff as always is lovely, accommodating and even embarrassed about the time share pressures. I understand they need to try and recoup money they lost during Covid but it such a shame. I a. Afraid this is our last trip to Mayan Palace as there are too many other places to go where the prices are not so high, there is NO TIMESHARE PRESSURES and to get there is not so traumatic with the unexpected holes in the road. The actual town is still coming back to life, they welcomed us and prices are normal, we particularly like El Meno’s seafood realtor at across from Little Caesar Pizza. . Do NOT stay at this resort! You will be disappointed.
This is the worst resort we have stayed at in 30+ years. The ineptitude started from the Check-In process to the Check-out process. The room..we had to call maintenance twice to fix the patio doors because they would not lock, the shower water was lukewarm no matter how long you waited for it to heat up, there is 1 hook for towels, bathing suits, toiletry bags and clothes in the bathroom, the microwave was on its last legs and I had to stand on a chair to read the buttons, the "floor ramp" to the outside patio is a safety hazard, zero patio furniture provided for the balconies, the Lazy River was drained as was the indoor pool, the steam room in the spa was not working, the flies that landed on the bar fruit garnishes for drinks was disgusting, the ice machines on Floors 2, 4, 6 and 8 where we were told to go contained zero ice, you will be charged for using the coffee packets as well as being charged a daily "conservation/education " fee unless you decline this at checkout. And the kicker, we were charged 2x for a resort fee - STILL TRYING to get 1 of the charges back. Do NOT stay at the MP is my advice! This is the worst resort we have stayed at in 30+ years. Wonderful inter action with the employees.
Employees were great. Javier always had our drinks ready for us around the Mayan pool. Edger in the joy squad gave me a joy t- shirt, so nice of him. Our room was always cleaned when we got back from the day at the pool. Thanks to Catalina and all the cleaning staff. Don’t remember the towel ladies name at the Mayan but always had a smile. The front desk and front bar staff were also very kind to us. Actually I loved all the employees. I hated how cold the pools were. And I mean cold. Mayan pool had been resurfaced. It was in great shape, just water was too cold. Also not crazy how the master room was remodeled. The lavatory did not have a separation door too the kitchen. Management needs too listen to there employees. That would go along way. You have wonderful employees, just listen to them . They are the backbone of your company. Listen too them.
