Clean, great location, but beware of the beach chairs!

I really liked staying at Longboat Bay Club. The location was wonderful and the unit itself (although minor things needed attention) was very spacious and clean. Tina, in the office was kind and helpful, and gave me great suggestions and assistance when needed. My biggest complaint is that the website claims they provide beach chairs. They are on a first come, first served, basis. Every morning and every night we looked at the beach chairs, and even tried a couple of them. EVERY SINGLE ONE of them were DANGEROUS to use. The chairs need to be thrown away and replaced with chairs that won't harm the guests. My very petite and light weight friend almost fell right through one of the chairs. It was very upsetting. Two of us went to Publix and bought beach chairs for $25. When I checked out, I spoke with someone and told them my concern and she didn't really seem to care. I also asked about being reimbursed (even a small amount) for the chairs we left at the resort for other guests to use. She was borderline rude. If you go, plan to purchase your own beach chair unless you are fortunate enough to get one of the two we left there. I really liked staying at Longboat Bay Club. Really Nice Place

My Wife and I visited the gulf side of Florida for the first time last week. The unit was large, only 15 total units directly across the road from the beach. In the middle between Bridge St (AMI) and St Armands circle. Has the look and feel of the Carribean without the hassle. The only downside for us was the cancelled flight on Saturday forcing us to Tampa and a long day. But it was not the resorts fault, they accommodated with their late check in process that worked really smooth. The amenities were perfect for us , beach chairs, pool, hot tub and tennis rackets. All we needed was the beach, suntan lotion and the gulf. Front desk staff was helpful and checked in on us middle of the week. Free Wifi and plenty of towels. We'll be back next spring hopefully.... Relaxing Vacation

Longboat Bay Club was perfect for a nice relaxing vacation The staff was very helpful and had great suggestions for nearby restaurants ,shops and different beaches. We arrived after hours but getting our room keys and paper work was not a problem .It seemed like we had the pool and beach all to our self. I tried fishing in the bay one day but was surprised by several manatees. We were also lucky enough to see dolphins at some of the nearby restaurants. The resort rooms were very large and comfortable. Every room provides a nice view of the bay .Some of the amenities included bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas as well as fishing gear. Excellent resort! Beautiful beaches

Large 2 bed / 2 bath Condo with all the comforts of home. Direct beach access across the street . Beautiful sunrise and Sunset views. Master has a sleep number King bed which is wonderful. 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds great for bringing along guests or kids. Washer and Dryer in each unit so you don't have to bring alot of extra clothes.Large kitchen and lots of space to stretch out . Publix is less than 1 mile , tons of excellent restaurants for dining . Great Value

Longboat Bay Club is a timeshare with large condos and a short walk across the street to the beach. The staff was very helpful, and the facilities were in good shape.
