Up north at Shanty Creek

Visited this resort in October. The color change was just starting. My unit in Ridgewalk was old and dated. appliances, furnishings, carpet was 70's. Unit smelled musty when we arrived. Beer bottles were left on the deck from the previous occupant. Nice resort if you are a golfer. Great views of Lake Bellaire and sunsets. Short drive to Traverse City which is great for restaurants and shopping Visited this resort in October. The color change was just starting. Mixed feelings about this resort

Tried to reserve with a phone call. Reservations tried to get us to commit to a much more expensive room with fireplace. Asked 3 different times for something less, no, there was nothing. So, did an online reservation got a completely different option & much more reasonable in price. Front desk did not program our key cards correctly. Had to wait for a reset on those, After 1/2 unpacking, realized that the refrigerator did not cool. Front desk decided to move us down the hallway. First room 277, had an unusually small bathroom countertop, with no under sink shelf. Second room had a much larger countertop. More user friendly for sure. No clock, although the microwave has a small clock. No paper, or pens, no booklet of information. Checked online information, not much there either. No complementary coffee in lobby. Just crappy Folgers in the room brewer. Swimming pool -outside & inside. No changing area for either one. The pool has a small hot tub. It is on one side of the Summit Village, the workout room, saunas, & spa are all the way on the other side of the building. Toilet was not correctly bolted down, & moved. Great stay

We had a wonderful time visiting with my bother and his wife. The unit they supplied us had very few steps to get in since we requested it. my wife had double knee replacement 5 months before our stay and my sister in law just finished chemo for cancer. We had a wonderful time visiting with my bother and his wife. Go elsewhere not good for elderly or disabled or children - overpriced

We were traveling with 4 adults, 1 infant and a dog. We were given a 2 bedroom condo in Trappers Lodge. We were told a flight of stairs were necessary to get to the condo - this in fact were 5-6 flights of stairs and an additional flight of stairs inside the condo. The stairs outside the condo were loose and falling off- major safety hazard. We were also told the condo had 2 full baths. The condo had 1 1/2 baths. The bedrooms were located upstairs and did not have any fans or any ac. It was extremely hot. A cabinet door fell off during our stay due to wood rotting that was determined to be from a water leak from the ice maker in the fridge. Upon arrival, the deck was covered with debris. The unit was extremely outdated decor wise, constant issues with the cable going in and out and just overall mediocre. This was a costly reservation to have such a mediocre experience. Would not recommend Trappers lodge in Summit Village. If you are disabled there would not have been any option to get to the condo. This needs a major overall. A solid resort for family and friends

We came here on July 4th weekend with another couple for 3 days of golf. It's a very convenient resort with the amenities all connected inside. Be the layout of the Summit Village is odd. A restaurant and Starbucks is in the lobby. There's a pool and sand volleyball pit in the back. Golf is just steps away. There's also a few small restaurants and shops next to the village.
