Weekend trip

We are HICV owners declined update/sales pitch. Stayed in building 22 which contains studios which are essentially just hotel rooms with kitchen. At first was in room with 2 queens but had requested king was able to move after hour wait to room with king but was the handicap accessible room. Would recommend to request not being on first floor rooms nearest the front door. All activities you would have to drive to including the indoor pool which was filled with screaming kids. Didn’t partake in any activities due to the fact that there was additional charges. Location is very remote be prepared to drive at least 30 minutes to restaurants or attractions. Very large and inclusive Resort, we are Owners

Really like the Fox River Resort, especially the large Presidential 2 BR Suites. Everything that you need. Only 1 eatery - the GRILL which was o.k. LOVE the large and covered pool and the Staff was friendly/helpful. Kinda in the middle of Farm Country so best Restaurants are located 15 minutes away in Ottawa. Only down side was noisy Families checking in late 10:30-11:30 p.m. Thursday night. (Parenting seems to be an option these days. One of our best stays at Fox River Resort

We were unexpectedly upgraded to one of Fox River's best 6/6 units. The unit was very attractive, and a very pleasant place to stay. With one small exception the unit was nicely cleaned. The grounds were nicely groomed, and a wonderful place for taking walks. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We've stayed here several times before. This was our best experience so far. We were unexpectedly upgraded to one of Fox River's best 6/6 units. The unit was very attractive, and a very pleasant place to stay. With one small exception the unit was nicely cleaned. Great venue in relaxing environment

We stayed here for only one week. Enjoyed the stay, as the apartment is spacious and well equipped. The resort is wonderful, with several leisure facilities such as golf, mini golf 2 pools + children's water park, fishing... great place absolutely reommend We stayed here for only one week. Leaving early, very disappointed

We booked a 7 day stay on RCI points for a studio unit as that was all that was available for the time frame in which we were interested. While a studio is obviously not going to have the features of a larger unit, it was very small, smaller than a typical hotel room without kitchen facilities. The unit is very dated, kitchen appliances appear to be over 20 years old. The resort website advertises the kitchen as having several items that are not in the unit including a toaster, can opener, and ice maker - not even an ice tray. The only kitchen utensils were a set of forks, spoons, and knives for dining and a spatula - no sharp knives or any other food prep and cooking utensils. The room has one "easy" chair and no other seating than the two straight chairs at the small dining table. The chair is worn and the dresser, table, etc is as dated as the kitchen appliances. The dresser and table and matching chairs are not only old but in poor condition with chipped paint and scratches. The dresser is some kind of pressed wood with laminate which is peeling off. The room is poorly insulated from a sound perspective. We could hear every step of the people in the unit above us and for most steps there were squeaks and creaks in the joists between the rooms. The people in the unit above us did not come in the first night until after midnight. We were had already gone to bed but were unable to get to sleep until some time after four A.M. due to the noise from the unit above us and that's saying something as we were very tired from traveling many miles. The overall facility seems to have some nice activities including a 9 hole golf course and miniature golf. The person checking me in told me this was her favorite building due to the view. In our unit, the only window looks out across the walkway to the rooms and into the parking lot - not much of a view. We chose this resort due to the location and proximity to some points of interests - to take some days trips to areas of the country we've not visited before with our being from the Southern USA. The location worked for that but we are checking out early and moving on to other points of interests. We have stayed in many resorts across the country but this one is one of the worst we've ever stayed in. We would strongly recommend that anyone coming to this area find somewhere else to stay because of the age, smallness of the unit, and lack of updates and cleanliness.
