Thanksgiving at the Beach

We got a chance to get away over Thanksgiving for much needed relaxation with a little Business in the Outer Banks, We had an awesome stay as aways Katie and Miss Jackie was very professional and helpful had a chance to tour the Christmas lights on the Boardwalk, overall just a nice much needed back looking forward to the next get away to VSA Resorts. No beach in sight

Location and non working pool/spa. The accommodations were ok but the general appearance of the interior looked like it was last changed in the 80's when it was built. Very disappointing because the photos on the RCI website must have been taken when it was first built. Location and non working pool/spa. Great off season trip

We booked the hotel last minute. Check in was fast and everyone we met during our stay was very friendly. The hotel was very clean and the rooms are spacious. We will definitely stay here again. Location is great - 2 blocks from the beach. Plenty of parking. Due to the building design, it was noisy but at 11pm, it got quiet. Not an issue for us. The kitchen was well stocked and the refrigerator is a good size for the room. Plenty of towels and they were very good quality. We booked the hotel last minute. Atrium Resort

This resort is just over a block from the beach, but you can catch a little glimpse of the ocean from certain windows. Even though RCI shows that an upgrade to a 2BR is possible, according to the front desk, all units are only 1 BR. It seems our unit had started to be cleaned, but had not been completed. The garbage cans were all emptied, there were clean towels, the bathtub looked clean, but quite visible was the dirt under the rim of the toilet bowl, and the base attached to the floor was obviously not cleaned. There was also a dirty towel still hanging on the back of the bathroom door. There were coffee grounds on the counter near the coffee maker, but when wiping the counter off with the disinfectant wipes that I brought, it seemed that a cleaner had previously been sprayed, but not yet wiped off. The bed was made, but when checking for bed bugs (which NONE were found!) we noticed that the pillow cases and the fitted and cover sheets were wrinkled, as sheets usually become after sleeping on them. It was hard to tell if the carpets had been vacuumed, they weren't terrible, but there were quite a few pieces of whatever scattered around that should've easily been picked up by a vacuum. The furniture and carpet are dated, and both could use a good cleaning! The kitchen was tiny, but there is a refrigerator, a small dishwasher, a stove top, no oven, but there is a microwave that is also a convection oven. Utensils, dishes, and pots/pans were provided. There is only one window in the bedroom, and the living room window looks out towards the inside of the atrium, so the unit has kind of a dark interior. The indoor pool and hot tub are in the atrium area, and can be seen from the hallways outside of the rooms. There is a fitness room, but it only a treadmill, an elliptical, and a bike, no weights at all. Although I probably wouldn't stay here again, the bed was comfortable, and the location is very close to numerous restaurants, shops, and the beach. There is a walkway and bike trail that runs parallel to the beach, and makes for a wonderful morning or evening stroll. I must say though, the staff were all very cordial and pleasant, never failing to say hello, and always greeted us with a smile. When talking to them about the cleanliness of the room, they were sympathetic and apologetic, saying they were short staffed, which is an unfortunate common complaint these days everywhere! Atrium structure very noisy

The staff was friendly and helpful. the facility and room very clean; location was very good. But the atrium design of the building amplified noise to all the floors from the pool, banging doors, and kids running/playing in the hallways.
