Dont Stay Here!!

We stayed at Bear Lake Motor Lodge earlier this week & we were very disappointed to put it mildly! First of all, there is no one at the office (if you can call it that). You pick up your key by using a code given to you in an email & we never saw anyone there. There is no ice or coffee & no lobby. As we stepped into our room, there was rebarb showing thru the concrete on both sides of the door. We should have immediately turned around & left, eating the cost of the 2 night say!! The door to our room was definitely a security issue because it was a hollow core door, making it very easy to be broken into. The room was pretty clean, although the inside of the microwave was filthy. The mattress & pillows were not comfortable because of poor quality. You could tell the building was built many years ago (likely the 50's) because you could hear semi trucks all night long. It seemed like our windows were open, it was so loud!! In order to get barely hot water in the bathroom/kitchenette, you had to turn on the faucet in the sink & wait about 15 minutes- I am not exaggerating!! Additionally, there was low water pressure for the shower. There was a Kelly green (ugly) color on one of the walls & the curtains were low quality. They let in lots of light in the room. The hotel describes itself as cute, but know that nothing has been updated, but the color of some walls & a Kuerig-like coffee maker!!! In the write-up for the hotel, they advertise that they have access to the water & you can easily launch a canoe/Kayak. The lake is at least a 1/2 mile away & there is no path to it. You have to go down a brief, but steep slope. Then you must walk through tall grass. Then you follow a dirt path down to the water. Just imagine carrying a canoe/kayak down to the water!! It wouldn't be fun. This hotel may be one of the cheapest buys in Garden City & there's a reason for that!! Don't waste your money - you'll be very disappointed!! Poor Management! Pictures Misrepresent the truth, Terrible

Completely upset by my experience July 2021. Booked this from a picture on their website and it was completely misleading. The picture looked bright, clean and airy. The actual room was dark dingy, had stained carpet, hideous green wall that was cracking, mold in the bathroom and felt like the twilight zone. The worst part is the exterior door is a cheap hollow interior door that is unsafe! We went into the room and immediately felt mislead with the "quaintro" vibe they promised. We put the key back and called them to say we could not stay based off of the uncleanliness and unsafe circumstances. They also said it was right on the water and it is not on accessible water. It is far from water access, you must drive if you have chairs etc and it's very swampy and muddy and far from the motel. They said they would call me to discuss refund options. No call. I called them on 7 different occasions over a month and was promised a manager would call me but they never did. We spent the majority of that afternoon scrambling to find another place to stay! They are rude and lie, do not stay here or the Waters Edge resort they are building on site. The locals refer to this as Bated Motel. Still waiting for my refund!! Bear Lake

Beautiful lake with almost crystal clear water. Relaxing beach with plenty to do. Definitely a great place to go with family during a summer vacation. The room was clean, spacious and a perfect touch of modern with cabin mountain life. Beautiful lake with almost crystal clear water. Relaxing beach with plenty to do. Needs Updating

**** NO FOX NEWS CHANNEL - FNC CHANNEL 28 IS BLOCKED ON THEIR TV'S!!!**** They offer every other news outlet, CNN, MSNBC etc, but NO FNC and we were told by the staff at the resort that they have no say and no control of the TV Cable Channel line-up. Staff said the timeshare company controls the channel line-up. Staff also said that they have no access to the TV/Cable box room either. The resort is right on the lake and some of the condo's have beautiful views. It appeared to us that over half of the resort was empty including the condos with the best lake views. We were put in the far west side with trees blocking our lake view. The rooms are very large, beds are very comfortable and the heating was perfect. However, the rooms need serious updating, old furniture and old TV's and absolutely no room in the kitchen for groceries. The front office closes at 5pm and there are no services after that. If you don't mind any of that the grounds are nice and the lake is awesome. You can get groceries in town, but it is limited and expensive.
