excellent stay at the Dunes

Another Incredible Visit to Wilderness Dunes

I was once again fortunate to be in a position to spend some time in 'paradise' and once again Tracy , Candice and the team delivered world class service and another unforgettable stay. I have been a regular visitor to the Dunes over the past 10 years or so and it is really pleasing to see that then standards of excellence have been maintained and in fact , improved over the years. Congratulations to the management team and the entire Wilderness Dunes team who continue to deliver a fantastic level of guest support. I strongly recommend Wilderness Dunes as a holiday or even a business destination. I was once again fortunate to be in a position to spend some time in 'paradise' and once again Tracy , Candice and the team delivered world class service and another unforgettable stay. Beautiful property, fantastic service

Amazing setting, incredibly well equipped + clean rooms, friendly staff, great facilities for all ages. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing or active getaway! We had a BEAUTIFUL view of the beach/sea and watched Dolphins go past from the comfort of our balcony and a coffee in hand. Perfect resort for an idyllic escape

We loved our stay at Wilderness Dunes. Our chalet enjoyed sea views one side & mountain views the other which were spectacular. The resort staff were friendly, helpful and quick to respond to any of our requests. The only one they were not able to satisfy was a request for some additional outdoor chairs as we had friends visiting for lunch and the picnic benches provided for outdoor dining proved too small for 6 adults to sit comfortably. The beach at Wilderness has beautiful clean golden sand which you could walk along for miles and fabulous rock pools to explore with the clearest water. The chalet was well appointed & offered 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & a galleried loft area with 2 beds so would have comfortably slept 8 people. We used the braai/BBQ most nights & having decks on either side of the chalet proved useful when it was windy on the sea view side. The local shops in Wilderness provided all we needed in terms of provisions for our stay & we enjoyed two very good meals out at local restaurants. Under the Milkwood.

This is a lovely and unique resort situated inside a gated residential estate high above the beach. The units are nestled in verdant coastal vegetation creating a sense of privacy and beauty. Large windows in every room ensure a tree house type experience. Our unit had a wall length window in the kitchen allowing me to birdwatch while dishwashing. Our private patio overlooked dune forest and the milkwood tree directly in front of our house was inundated with feathered visitors. The units are comfortable and attractive and neighbours are screened behind the lush vegetation. There is a direct gated entrance to the long and beautiful beach but the descent necessitates the use of many steps that may overwhelm some. We loved the walk along the boardwalk to access the gate however. Wilderness Dunes is most certainly a very good base to access all the area has to offer. Forest walks, canoeing down the Touws River, tandem paragliding right outside the resort, and a myriad of very good off the beaten track eateries. Don't ignore Waves, which is a coffeeshop/deli situated at the petrol station also at the entrance to Wilderness Dunes. Artisanal breads and bakes and a variety of other luxurious foods that will raise your self catering to hedonistic levels.
