unfriendly service

We were here for our honeymoon. the room were not ready upon arrival. we arrived early evening. wow, the staff at this place is very unfriendly. when we arrived the car guard welcomed us. not even the receptionist welcomed us. tried to make jokes with the lady in the bar serving us, she does not even smile. The receptionist got our booking but then asked me to email it to her. strange as she has the booking in front of her, i still need to email her the booking. the buffet dinner is extremely expensive. R320 per person. and definitely not worth it. Peace and Tranquilty

COVID struck and travel has been so restricted but I am happy to be back! Travelling locally again has brought back the wanderlust! A recent trip to the Drakensberg took us for 7 nights to this beautiful resort. So peaceful you can hear yourself think. The chalets are well equipped. Loving hiking trails. In touch with nature. However, if you think you desperately need wifi then the chalets are a no no. The hotel area offers free, unlimited wifi. The library provides a space for you to work in. Pretty much most of the day we worked as we were on a working holiday. Our mobile routers didn’t pick up signal in the chalets. But I’m not complaining as it was a beautiful working break! Great family resort, lots to do for parents and kids

Spent a family long weekend in the self catering units - clean, kitted out with everything required and very comfortable. Facilities are great and kids had a fantastic weekend, lots of fun activities and resort staff totally focused on ensuring the family has fun. The resort is well maintained, staff polite and helpful. Lots of activities included in the price. Optional fine dining or self catering as the resort offers hotel and self catering options. Vast space and views of the mountains. Dam that has it own ferry operating tours twice a day. Fun and games poolside by the resorts own entertainment team. Kids play area, beach volleyball ball, massive chess and snake and ladders on the lawn. Lots to do, alternatively check in at the Spa that is located on the premises. Good Hotel, Good Location

Pros Good clean rooms, clean linens. Buffet breakfast and dinner were decent, had enough to offer. Great views, hike trails, gardens around the hotel are very well kept, and a big positive part of the experience. Cons Lack of manpower during breakfast and dinner meant long queues were forming frequently. No lifts, so lots of stairs to climb if you book a room on the upper floors. Overall a good experience.
