Disappointing

Went for a two day spa break but being out of season and Covid restrictions, not everything open. Have to book for swimming, dinner etc Very late check in, 4.0p pm. Booked for 6 pm dinner. Dining room very cold, no radiators on and very few guests. Limited menu as being vegetarian always minimal choices. Phoned after dinner asking if I had to book for breakfast to be told they don't do breakfast! Only at weekends apparently. This may be because all the waiting staff appeared to be very young so possibly at college during the day.Bar and restaurant closed intil 5.pm. Had to drive down the road to a farm for breakfast. Had scrambled eggs but disappointing. Asked when I returned if there was a lounge I could sit in but sadly not. Went for a drive, bought some food took back to my room, also radiator off, and watched TV. This place, I'm sure is lovely in the summer and is mostly for self catering families. Biggest shock ..£100 "damage charge" which they promise to return in 14 days. I'm still waiting. I was in a bedroom not self catering chalet and for just 2 nights. How much damage did they expect? I would have given it 2 stars except that the hotel staff, Amy, Ellie and Maxine were all terrific. The restaurant is run by a separate company.. a mistake in my opinion. Great resort !!

We were 4 adults staying in a 2 bed unit. The unit was impeccable. The staff courteous, helpful and friendly. The resort itself was great in a wonderful location. We used the bar and restaurant. Both were reasonably priced although the menu in the restaurant was restricted on the day we went there because of a gas leak but still the staff was very accommodating. A VERY ENJOYABLE HOLIDAY

This resort is in a very convenient and pleasant part of North Devon. Convenient to many areas of beauty and interest. It is well managed with helpful and efficient staff. The lodges are high quality and well maintained and provide for a quiet and relaxing stay with good onsite facilities for those wanting a more active stay. All in all a very enjoyable and satisfying stay. This resort is in a very convenient and pleasant part of North Devon. Convenient to many areas of beauty and interest. Very pleasant and enjoyable stay, large units being well equipped, very relaxing, friendly staff, pool, steam room, sauna open but no hot tub? Peaceful setting

We thoroughly enjoyed our short break here. We ate at the restaurant twice, swam in the pool every day and also played table tennis. There are peacocks and ducks around the grounds and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. We will definitely go back without hesitation. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break here.
