Nice quaint place, close to Newport but not in hustle and bustle. We enjoyed time at pool as well as closeness to Newport, due to Covid some places in town still shut down. Overall will stay again, and suggest it to others. Nice quaint place, close to Newport but not in hustle and bustle. Nice stay

The Bay Voyage is an old hotel in Jamestown. It is clean and the staff is pleasant. All amenities were closed because of Covid so they are using the time to renovate the restaurant and other facilities. We were in a one bedroom, which offers one full-size bed. Our room has a very nice view of the water and the Newport bridge. Picture is a morning view from our balcony. The Bay Voyage is an old hotel in Jamestown. It is clean and the staff is pleasant. Location, location location!

The location is fabulous, I’d stay again just for that! Minutes from Newport, walking distance to local restaurants in town and seconds from the beach. I was there off season but there is an outdoor pool that otherwise would have been open. Mini kitchenette is in the room, so no stove or oven, just a toaster and microwave to go with your mini fridge and sink. I loved the quality of the furniture, the drawers closed slowly rather than slamming. The only thing I didn’t love is that the units run along the hallway, so the headboard of the bed of the room I was in was right along the hallway wall so I heard everything and had to put a noisemaker on to drown it out on the busy nights when it sounded like folks were checking in and out. Thanksgiving Week

My partner and I spent a Covid-19 Thanksgiving week at the Bay Voyage Inn and enjoyed it very much. Isabel, John and Dave were all very accommodating and helpful. The Jamestown area is very quiet and beautiful this time of year. Great for walking, running or biking around the island. The center of town, some sandwich and breakfast takeouts are a 10 minute walk. Newport is a 15 minute drive over the bridge. It is important to understand what you are getting. A partial kitchen means microwave and small fridge/freezer but no cooktop or oven. Knowing that we brought an InstaPot to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. We had a beautiful room on the third floor with a view of the Claiborne Pell Bridge and great sunrise views over the water. Not a fan of the changes

I am intimately familiar with the Bay Voyage from the 80’s and recently returned for a visit. I have to say I am extremely disappointed in what it has become. In years past there was beautiful wooden front desk, now what they have are practically kiosks. I understand COVID precautions (if that was even the reason for the change), but I am fairly certain something better could have been done in a historic building. In years past there were period prints on the walls in the lobby, including one that depicted why the place is called the Bay Voyage. Now there are generic prints that don’t represent anything in particular. I for one don’t appreciate the modernization of a historic building.
