Resort Was Great About Cancelling Due to the Fires
The folks at Olympic Village resort told us to contact REI concerning having to cancel our Aug 29 - Sept 5 vacation because of unhealthful air and imminent fire danger. I am trying to find out on-line but I can't to see what I got for paying $89 for trading Protection Fee. With all of the cancelations due to fires, etc, I had hoped to find info links to this right up front. I am sure it is me. Is there anything I can do? Great location, free bike usage for Truckee River bike path
Beautiful place, grounds and rooms are clean. Recommend second floor, which is a lot more private. There is an elevator. Bell carts are available for self use. Parking is free and abundant. Hammocks and yard games are available. There is a nice relaxing fountain and a small pond in the area near the balconies, which is very relaxing to listen to. Free bike usage for mostly level paved two-way bike path that goes all the way to South Lake Tahoe. We were here during the Dixie fie and the Caldor fire, limiting what we could do, but this was no fault of the resort. Other activities they have are a ceramic painting class and a mosaics class, which were fun. We have been here several times, and will continue to come back, but maybe change the time of year to spring instead of during fire season. Beautiful place, grounds and rooms are clean. Nice Location
Overall a very good experience. The hotel appears to be well maintained and updated considering its age. We did enjoy the location close to the Olympic Village., Very comfortable. The grounds are attractive. Overall a very good experience. The hotel appears to be well maintained and updated considering its age. Olympic Village Inn
Property a bit dated but OK. Took two Jack and Jill Dorm rooms and made into one bedroom. Had some maintenance issues A bit far from ski area at Squaw Valley. Didn't work well for Alpine Meadows which is the better ski area. Property a bit dated but OK. Took two Jack and Jill Dorm rooms and made into one bedroom. In the tradition of "Olympic" Excellence
This is our second week stay in two consecutive months. The first visit, we were actually blown away by the cordial and helpful manager and front desk staff. True hospitality at its finest. During our first week's stay we were so impressed with several staff members, in particular, Juan and Nicki. They would help with anything we needed and this made our stay so enjoyable, especially because the few trips we have taken during the global pandemic have been sub-average. Oh yes, the resort/amenities, etc. Which goes to show you that hospitality weighs so importantly. Older facility, but extremely well kept and maintained. Sanitation is impeccable. While all amenities can not be open right now, the pool is and is heated to 86 degrees. The clubhouse and BBQ's are available with reservations. To the Ski Community: If you are skiing Squaw/Alpine, you will love this place, priced lower than most in the north Lake Tahoe region. This is our second week stay in two consecutive months.
