Our stay in Helen, GA

Unlike some other recent reviews, we thought that this unit was reasonably well equipped with supplies, decent linens and towels, etc. The furniture other than the beds were comfortable, the bed was not comfortable. The unit's decor is rather dated, but could be improved easily by getting rid of the wallpapered areas and pickled paneling, painting a modern neutral color, and adding new headboards and bedding. The location was a convenient walking distance to downtown Helen, shops, and restaurants and near the river and several parks decorated for Christmas. The Helen to Hardman House walking trail was also nearby, but not mentioned in the resort information. The indoor swimming pool was very nice and the other amenities appeared to be well maintained. A Week in Helen

An older rustic resort. The unit was dated. Beds were very old and uncomfortable. Person at check in was very unfriendly. When we asked for a restaurant recommendation, her answer was none, they are all too expensive! The unit was fair at best, it served the purpose for the week. Disappointed

Roaches! Towels worn, scratchy and smelly. Desperately need new linens. Hairdryer didn't work. Sparse supplies (there were only two of us but certainly not enough for a family). Had to go out and buy necessities the very first day (including roach spray!). Stayed at Loreley 4 years ago and was excited to visit again. Disappointed this time...need upgrades. Roaches! Beautiful resort

Lovely grounds but outdated appliances and furniture. Staff is very friendly. They have basketball, shuffle board, tennis, picnic area next to creek. Can check out games from front desk. Alpine Helen Location

Cute resort, very close to downtown, yet off the beaten path. River was beautiful. Unit was adequate, a little dated but met our needs. It was clean and we well stocked. Unfortunately there were no activities available. Helen and the surrounding areas made up for that. Be sure to see Anna Rosa Falls, Brasstown Bald and Sautee General Store.
